We spend time together, ask questions, listen, observe and probe clients’
assumptions about their assuming futures, both explicit and more hidden,
‘shadow’ ones. This shapes our joint understanding of what kind of
transformation towards the future is required.
Constructing ‘future spaces’
When the most relevant ‘future dilemmas’ are identified, we construct the
‘future spaces’, future ‘mini-worlds’ that will be explored and played with.
Depending on the clients’ issues, a specific ‘gameplays’ are developed,
a unique combinations of activities, reflections, and creations to help new
forms of thoughts and actions to emerge.
It is a creative process whereby our hypotheses about the futures are
translated into multi-sensorial, interactive immersive environments where
our clients will not only be able to understand the futures, but sense and

immersion and interactions. We go through these experiences and discoveries
together, reflect upon new emerging ideas and practices, shape and anchor
new ‘memories of the future’. Finally, we evaluate with our clients what are
the signals of new behaviors and practices, new ideas and tangible artifacts
we can now see.
