Stories of Origin<br />+<br />Moses: The man who lead <br />the Jews out of Egypt and<br />received the ten <br />Commandments today the<br />Jews laws.<br />Abram: The first official<br />Jew and the first to believe<br />in one G-d. He made an<br /> agreement with to start<br /> Judaism<br />=<br />Israel<br />

Core Beliefs <br />The Jews believe that<br /> G-d would like them <br />to follow a set of rules <br />called the the Ten <br />Commandments.<br />Jews believe in many <br />Stories from the Torah <br />Including the burning <br />Bush on mount Sinai. <br />Jews believe that god<br />Wants them to take a <br />day of rest called the<br /> Sabbath. <br />

The Talmud which explain what the script in the torah means<br />Below is an image of the Midrash<br />which are the stories explaining <br />the stories in the torah.<br />

Holy Places<br />This is the west wall. <br />It is holy because it is <br />the remains of the <br />original temple. <br />The picture above is a<br /> synagogue which is <br />where Jews worship.<br />Above is the holy place<br /> mount Sinai. Jews believe that <br />Moses got the Ten<br /> Commandments here.<br />

Rituals/Rites of Passage<br />This is a Jewish wedding.<br />The bride and the groom<br />stand underneath a<br /> chupah (canopy) as they<br /> are married By a Cantor<br /> or Rabbi<br />This is a Jewish<br /> bat mitzvah. A bat mitzvah is when a 12-13 year old becomes an adult<br />This is a Jewish<br /> boys circumcision. <br />This rite of passage<br />Enters the boy into<br />Judaism. <br />
  7. 7. Holidays<br />Most holidays have<br />certain food. This is a Seder<br />plate which we use during<br />passover<br />All holidays come from the torah.<br />You read out of the torah<br /> though every week<br />This is a Temple where most<br />Jews go on holidays. You go <br />Here a lot during the high <br />holidays <br />
  8. 8. Symbols and objects <br />This is the star of David.<br />It is the main symbol of<br /> Judaism <br />This is Tefilin. It is used<br /> to pray and you wrap it <br />on your head and hand <br />This is Keepah.<br />It is worn on your <br />head to pray<br />
