• Mercy Connections Overview

    1. 1. Nurturing self sufficiency through Education Mentoring and Community
2. 2. Mercy Connections is an educational non-profit organization living the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy with an enduring concern for women. By compassionately nurturing self-sufficiency through education, mentoring and community, people are empowered to make significant life changes.
3. 3. Education
4. 4. “I ENJOYED THE CLASSES AND GAINED ALOT OF KNOWLEDGE TO HELP ME MOVE ON IN MY LIFES JOURNEY.”
“I have changed my perspective.
I used to think in black and white now I realize there is a range of growth between being a success and the opposite.”
“I learned that I really enjoy communicating my ideas to others. I loved that the process helped me gain skills in an area that I am traditionally weak.”
5. 5.
    6. 6. “It’s given me the opportunity to really take an in depth look at my own self and see where it is I keep getting stuck and what I need to do to move past that, to move into fulfilling work, to rise above my addictions or circumstances and to succeed.”
7. 7. Mentoring
8. 8. “My mentor helps me hold my vision for myself when I forget.”
“As I led this program, I began to step back from being ‘the leader’. I tried to move toward a more genuinely equal scenario… because of this, the spirit and bond that was created this year especially is something I will never forget..”
9. 9.
    10. 10. “We are 2 women, both mothers, and she is not less of a person because of her mistakes. I try to tell her ‘I learn a lot from you’ too.”
“I had been clean and sober for three years. I had no clue what my next step was and then hooked up with Mercy Connections. I took two of their programs this year and thanks to them I will never be the same.”
11. 11. Community
12. 12. “My program gave me a chance to be active in the community. I feel a part of the community now”
“Now I realize that my actions have a ripple effect on the world around me.”
“We are different because we take time to listen and for adults in Burlington they need that… that time is gold.”
13. 13.
    14. 14. “We are serving people that society has often given up on. We never say no to a second, third, fourth, etc. chance. It takes a long time of non-judgemental hospitality, acceptance and love to help people to make transformative life changes.”
“ We Focus on humanity and humility.”
