  • 2. How does the brain work?
  • 3. A hundred years ago, the only way scientists could examine the human brain was with a corpse.
  • 4.  Today, scientists can look inside a living brain and watch it work.
  • 5. What’s going on in there?
  • 6. What’s going on in there?  When you think, connections form in your brain
  • 7. The connections in your brain are like pathways
  • 8. Pathways in the brain = learning
  • 9. Your brain changes as you learn + = For example, if a man drives a taxi for many years
  • 10. TAXI + = Taxi driver brain!! After a few years, the “finding your way around” part of his brain will be much bigger than it was before!!
