Q4 Who would be the target audience for your media product?
1. Q4: WHO WOULD BE THE
AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT?
By Carmen Katema
2. TARGET AUDIENCE
For my target audience, the age bracket I was mainly aiming
for was ages 18 and onwards.
This decision was mainly due to the dialogue and the comedy
used in my film opening. I thought that this would be more so
understood by an older generation, as opposed to young
children.
My film opening was inspired by television shows such as
Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Murder, She
Wrote, and I felt that shows such as these are often aimed
towards a more mature audience.

5. REACHING MY TARGET AUDIENCE
In order to aim my film opening towards my target
audience I tried to use certain elements in my mise-
en-scene in order to give my opening a more
mature, older feel.
For example, in terms of the costumes, I made
everyone wear an outfit which represented a
middle-aged era time period.
