“It is finished.” John 19:30 These three words are the last words Jesus spoke before He died on the cross. People all over the world rely on Jesus and what He did on the cross… but I wonder how many of them are not understanding what it is that Jesus finished
Is.53:5“But he was wounded for ourtransgressions, he was bruisedfor our iniquities:the chastisement of our peacewas upon him; and with hisstripes we are healed.”
What exactly did Jesus finish? 1 Peter 3:18 “That’s what Christ did definitively: suffered because of others’ sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all—was put to death and then made alive—to bring us to God.” (MSG)
1 Peter 3:18 Ampl. “For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit,”
I am comforted with wordslike definitively, especially when they come from God. At the cross Jesus was declaring that because of His sinless life here on earth He could “bring us to God”.
Who are the “us” Jesus is referring to? John 3:16 (NIV)“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life
God’s grace has made available to useverything we will ever need in thislife. However, it’s going to take faith inorder to access grace; we cannot bepassive about it. We receivedsalvation by grace through faith. Our salvation includes our soundness, wholeness, deliverance, healing, andprosperity. It is by faith that we takepossession of those finished works. Itis already done.
We received our salvation by grace through faith. God has given us everything we need to have an extraordinary life (Ephesians 2:8- 10, AMP).1. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men” (Titus 2:11). a. Salvation has been made available to everyone on the planet. b. It takes faith to receive the grace that’s been made available (Romans 5:2).
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).1. There are two realms in existence, running concurrently—the spiritual and the physical realms. a. The spirit realm is the parent of the physical realm. b. The physical things we see came from spiritual things we cannot see. c. For instance, angels exist even though we cannot see them with our physical eyes.
2. “And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (2 Kings 6:17). a. The spiritual eyes of the servant were opened, giving him the ability to see the spiritual realm (2 Kings 6:15-17).
3. When we became born again, God placed many good things on the inside of us (our born-again spirits). a. When we are facing troubling challenges in life, we can acknowledge those good things within us (Philemon 1:6). b. Our salvation encompasses our soundness, wholeness, deliverance, healing, and prosperity. c. By faith, we take ownership of what God has already done.
