  • You may be wondering, “Then why dis so-and-so get healed and I didn’t?” “Why did God touched them and not me?”
  • Read pages 19-21
  • Verse 18 says we can’t see God—so God showed himself in Christ! Jesus is “God the One and Only” (deity!)
  • John 14:8 a Philip * said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” John 14:9 Jesus * said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? a He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
  • Grace & faith a delicate balance

    1. 1. Eph.2:8,9
    2. 2. The Bible clearly teaches a balance between: •• Grace (God’s part) & Grace (God’s part) & •• Faith (our part) Faith (our part)
    3. 3. The Body of Christ is basically divided into 2 groups:1. Those who emphasize Grace – what God does They preach that everything is totally up to God 2.Those who emphasize Faith – what we do They preach that there are many things that we must do
    4. 4. Both groups contend that the other group is totally wrongEverything should come down to these questions: 1. What part is GODs responsibility? 2. What part is MY responsibility? 3. What must I do?
    5. 5. sodium and chloride
    6. 6. Chloride ion
    7. 7. Sodium
    8. 8. The balance of Grace & Faith is like sodium and chloride Both sodium and chloride are poisons If you take either one of them by themselves in sufficient quantity, they’ll kill you Yet if you mix sodium & chloride together, you get salt, a mineral necessary to sustain life !
    9. 9. Need for Balance…Grace Faith
    10. 10. Yet if you mix sodium & chloride together, you get salt, a mineral necessary to sustain life !
    11. 11. Saved by what !?
    12. 12. “For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God” Eph.2:8 Ampl. The Bible says that we are saved by Grace through Faith We aren’t saved by one or the other
    13. 13. To be technically correct, there is a parenthetical phrase in this passage in the last part of Eph.2:5, which says: “… by grace ye are saved”I’m not arguing that it’s wrong to say thatwe are saved by grace, but technically, it’snot grace alone that saves us ! It’ s really important that we understand this point
    14. 14. God has done so much for us, by His grace, but for us to receivewhat He has done there must bea positive response on our part, which is what the Bible calls “faith”There has to be a combination of both Grace & Faith
    15. 15. You aren’t saved by Grace alone Grace is what God does for you. It’s His part. It is something that was done for you before you existed. Grace has nothing to do with you. By defenition, Grace it is “unmerited, unearned, undeserved favour”. If Grace is something that God does and if Grace alone saved, then every person would be saved, because Titus 2:11 revels that the Grace of God that brings salvation appeared to all men.
    16. 16. Need for Balance…Grace Faith
    17. 17. Need for Balance… Fa ithGrace
    18. 18. Need for Balance… Gra ce Fai th
    19. 19. Need for Balance…Grace Faith
    20. 20. God’s… GRACE God Grace is the sametowards every one of us!God has exactly the sameGrace toward every person who ever lived
    21. 21. You may be wondering: • “Then why ‘so-and-so’ got healed and I didn’t?” • “Why did God touched them and not me?”
    22. 22. What is the PROBLEM ?The problem is:YOU think that when you seesomething happen, that God has done something or provide something for that person, that He hasn’t provided for you
    23. 23. God, by Grace, has already broughtsalvation to every person on the face of this earth !!! Titus 2:11
    24. 24. This is not something that is commonly understoodMost people that it is their performance that earns them extra pull andMost people that it is their performance that earns them extra pull and favor to get the power of God operating in their life favor to get the power of God operating in their life The truth is: - The moment you begin relating God’s blessing – the manifestation of His power in your life - to anything that you have done, then you miss it – you have just voided grace!
    25. 25. The truth is:•• The moment you begin relating God’s The moment you begin relating God’sblessing – the manifestation of blessing – the manifestation of His Hispower in your life -- to anything that you power in your life to anything that youhave done... have done... a. Then, you miss it – you have just voided grace! b. Then you have made God’s blessing and manifestation, in your life, proportional to something that you have done.If you think that way, then you don’t understand the grace of God.
    26. 26. God, by Grace, already provided everything for you ever needed it•Salvation,•Healing,•Prosperity Already provided in JESUS CHRIST “And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.” I John 2:2
    27. 27. Jesus died for every sinner whohas ever lived on this earth. And He died for our sins twothousand years ago, long before we had ever committed them.“And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoningsacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sinsof] the whole world.”I John 2:2
    28. 28. We have Been Forgiven Our sins have been forgiven already, in Jesus, and we are under the blood We have to believe the Gospel – that Jesus has already come, He’s alreadt died for us and forgiven the sins of the world Sinai M - C - CWell, then… if that is true, everybody is saved, right? - NO !!! This is not the case, becauseGrace alone doesn’t save you !!! • God, by Jesus Christ, made provision •God, in Jesus, paid for every person’s sin
    29. 29. Jesus explain WHY people go to hell Because they don’t BELIEVE in Him !!!“And when He comes, He willconvict and convince the world and bringdemonstration to it about sin and aboutrighteousness (uprightness of heart and rightstanding with God) and about judgment:About sin, because they do not believe in Me[trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me]”John 16:8,9 Ampl.
    30. 30. If you have madeJesus your Lord and Savior, then all of your sins – past, present and future – have already been forgiven !!!
    31. 31. The Why, for the coming of the Holy Spirit7 However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, theComforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) willnot come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Himto you [to be in close fellowship with you].8 And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bringdemonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart andright standing with God) and about judgment:9 About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere toMe];10 About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God),because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer;11 About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] isjudged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him. John 16 Ampl
    32. 32. Christs departure was necessary to the Comforters coming.Sending the Spirit was to be the fruit of Christs death, whichwas his going away. His bodily presence could be only in oneplace at one time, but his Spirit is every where, in all places,at all times, wherever two or three are gathered together inhis name. See here the office of the Spirit, first to reprove, orto convince. Convincing work is the Spirits work; he can doit effectually, and none but he. It is the method Matthew Henrys Concise Commentary on the Bible
    33. 33. the Holy Spirit takes, first to convince, and then tocomfort. The Spirit shall convince the world, of sin; notmerely tell them of it. The Spirit convinces of the fact of sin; of the fault of sin; of the folly of sin; of the filth of sin, that by it we are become hateful to God; of the fountain of sin, the corrupt nature; and lastly, of the fruit of sin, that the end thereof is death. The Holy Spirit proves that all the world is guilty before God
    34. 34. He convinces the world of righteousness; thatJesus of Nazareth was Christ the righteous. Also, ofChrists righteousness, imparted to us forjustification and salvation. He will show them whereit is to be had, and how they may be accepted asrighteous in Gods sight. Christs ascension provesthe ransom was accepted, and the righteousnessfinished, through which believers were to bejustified.
    35. 35. BlackOf judgment, because the prince of this world isjudged. All will be well, when his power is broken, who made all the mischief. As Satan issubdued by Christ, this gives us confidence, for noother power can stand before him. And of the dayof judgment. The coming of the Spirit would be ofunspeakable advantage to the disciples.
    36. 36. • The Holy Spirit is our Guide, not only to show us the way, but to go with us by continued aids and influences. To be led into a truth is more than barely to know it; it is not only to have the notion of it in our heads, but the relish, and savour, and power of it in our hearts. He shall teach all truth, and keep back nothing profitable, for he will show things to come. All the gifts and graces of the Spirit, all the preaching, and all the writing of the apostles, under the influence of the Spirit, all the tongues, and miracles, were to glorify Christ. It behoves every one to ask, whether the Holy Spirit has begun a good work in his heart? Without clear discovery of our guilt and danger, we never shall understand the value of Christs salvation; but when brought to know ourselves aright, we begin to see the value of the Redeemer. We should have fuller views of the Redeemer, and more lively affections to him, if we more prayed for, and depended on the Holy Spirit. (Jn 16:16-22)
    37. 37. The grace of God is extended exactly the same towards everybody – not only to you, but to every person on the face of the earth.Adolf Hitler had as much graceextended towards him as you and I have.
    38. 38. Black Jesus loved every person that had done terrible things in the history of the world – He died for them and paid the price for their sins exactly the same as He did for all the people who had received Him, love Him, and seek HimThe Grace of God is identical toward us all !!!
    39. 39. The Grace of God is Consistent• He is the same towards everybody. God is no respecter of persons. Rom.2:11• He doesn’t love one person more than He loves another.• He hasn’t provide more for one person than He has provided for another.
    40. 40. By His Grace God has forgiven the sins of Humanity Grace is what God does for us independent of us. Doe s that me an that e ve rybody is s ave d? No! Be c aus e not e ve rybody has put faith in what God has done through Je s us
    41. 41. Black•Prior to your existence, before you evenhad a need, God had already createdthe supply.•Before you ever get discoureged, Godhas already blessed you with all spiritualblessings.•He’s already abunded towards you inlove.•He’s already provided, in Jesus, everything, before you had the problem. That’s awesome !!!
    42. 42. James 1:14“Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights…”
    43. 43. God by His grace, has already done everything he anticipated every need that you could ever have, and He already met all of those needs through Jesus Christ.Through Jesus, God intervened in the affairs of men. He’s provided everything, and that happened 2.000 years ago. Jesus hasn’t died for a single person’s sin since. He took our sins 2.000 years ago !Jesus hasn’t healed a single person since. He took our stripes on his body 2.000 years ago !
    44. 44. Salvation, healing,Black deliverance and prosperityhave already been provided. When people hear this truth and believe, allof a sudden what God has already providedby grace becomes a reality to them.As they mix faith with the Word ofGod, whatHe jas qlready done in and by Jesus Christ, begins to manifest in their life
    45. 45. You are saved by grace trough faith, not by one or the other exclusively. Understanding this foundationaltruth will make a huge difference in your life !!!
    46. 46. The Balance of Grace FaithIs like sodium and chloride
    47. 47. Despite all that God has provided in Jesus, we have a parte to play in receiving
    48. 48. Faith
    49. 49. True Bible faith is simply your positive response of what God has already provided through Jesus Christ
    50. 50. Faith only appropriates what God has already providedFaith is the way you receive what God has already provided through grace
    51. 51. Black Faith reaches out and appropriates what God has alreadyprovided for us in and by JesusWe don’t have to ask, plead and beg to God He has already supplied what we needIs just a matter of us believing and receiving
    52. 52. Asking is not wrong. But it all depends on your attitude ! This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anythingaccording to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. I Joh 5:14,15
    53. 53. • Just believe and receive command and release the power of God• The harmony between this is the attitude in which you ask
    54. 54. Powerful truthInstead of approaching God as a beggar, I need to be a believar who trusts His promisses, and confidently and gratefully just take advantage of what He’s already provided for us !!!
    55. 55. You have to believe God in order to see His promises come to pass in your life
    56. 56. Black Faith or Grace – independent of each other, not mixedtogether propely – will
