Dream Mares

 1. 1. With College ending for me in about 7 more weeks, I’ve been considering putting my written Dream Journal into a real book and publishing it but that will take some more thought. If I was going to do it I’d call it Dream Mares but I haven’t fully decided if that’s something I want to do just yet or if I’d even have time. If I do decide to create a book like that I’d use the image of myself above, but would change the look of it quite a bit. Once I finish my College courses I’ll graduate with my (AABA) Associates of Arts in Business Administration with a Concentration in Criminal Justice Administration, and then I’ll begin my Bachelor courses in order to obtain my (BSCJ). I’ll finish my Bachelor courses on July 11th 2010 so I still have a long way to go. My major will be Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice Administration with a Concentration in Special Populations. Once I finish and Graduate with my Bachelors Degree I have plans on becoming a Parole Officer. It’s been a long road, but very worth it. I plan on being in Chicago Illinois on the October 10th at the Navy Pier where my Graduation will be held which is 6 days after my Birthday.
These are some pretty big steps that I’ve taken over the past few years but I had to do something for myself for a change. I rarely do much for myself and it was past time I did. My original goal was to become a Psychologist which I may still obtain my Degree in down the road. I enjoy helping people and talking to people. Human Behavior has always intrigued my interest. Being a Parole Officer will also allow me to help people, just in a very different way. I’ve made some pretty good friends along the way in my journey, and I’ve settled down quite a bit since I’ve started College and It’s changed me in ways only I can see. I haven’t been proud of myself over very much as the years have passed but I must admit even if it’s a bit selfish to do so at any given time that I’m pretty darn proud of myself these days and it’s been a very long time since I could actually say something like that. The best part of it all is hearing my children say they are proud of me. That alone makes it all worth it.
I have a good friend named Lynn that encouraged me to even go to College, and I owe her a lot, she’s a great person and I wouldn’t trade her friendship for anything in the world. She sets a great example not only for me but for her own children. I believe I’ve encouraged my own children to look at their own futures quite a bit differently. I’ve got one daughter that doesn’t quite know what she wants in life but her spirit is free and her heart is big. I’ve got another daughter that wants to go to college but hasn’t quite made up her mind just yet. I think she’s still trying to figure life out and experience it just a bit, as well as trying to build her own life for herself without my help which makes me have tons of respect for her. My son has talked about joining either the Navy or the Marines ever since he was about 8 years old. He’s 15 now and still talks about it so I’m pretty proud of him too. I won’t stand in the way of how my children want to live their lives and put a damper on things, but they all know I am here when and if they ever need me. Other than that I can’t think of much else to say here, I haven’t written to many things out like this where I talk about myself so maybe I’ll work on that as well.
