Planning my music
magazine production

Costume
 My model will be wearing either a glitter dress, jumper and a fur coat which is
shown in the Ellie Goulding images along with a pair of black boots. My model
will be wearing these clothes due to recreating these images and indie look, a
lot of the indie style clothing includes patterns and textures for example the fur
coat, jumper and glittered texture dress these clothing items are in black gold
earthy tones again gives the connotation of the genre of the magazine. Not all
of these images I take will be used, I will be taking as many images as possible
to show the variation in the quality of my images and choosing the ones which
best represent my music genre. My model will also have black painted nails
which
helps to give the audience the connotation of the indie feel music magazine.
 Hair will be covered in salt spray to add the texture of what is created upon
these images ,alternatively this is a youthful look.
 Makeup ,make up will be subtle again recreating the look on the images
however using a dark bronzer which has been used on the indie artist Ellie
Goulding, furthermore a darker lip colour which is mainly used within the
indie clothing and look to make the genre and indie feel as realistic as possible
 Props, images will be take in front of a green screen and then I shall edit the
background colour to a violet or grey shade, I will need a chair for my model
to sit on and also silver confetti which will be dropped and blown using a fan
to create the seen being used. Lighting will be used as intense shadows and the
levels of brightness are used to contrast each other in a dramatic manner
Model
 The model I have chosen will be representing the indie style by her clothing and
makeup in order to mirror the Ellie Goulding images. I chose my model as I
thought she would be the best person who would suit the style and represent
this genre in the most effective and realistic way . My model has long hair
which works well for the images and for the look I’m creating. Furthermore my
model has dark hair although Ellie Goulding has blonde hair stereotypically
looking at my audience they have a tendency to have dark and red hair tones
either tanned or very pale skin tones, my model fits into the connotation of what
my target audience would be looking for within an Indie based magazine. I
chose an attractive female model which would just attract a female audience
due to celebrity endorsement as an inspiration not feeling threatened but also
male, if I used a male model it wouldn’t create the same impact which may
create a representation which I do not want to convey. A female audience
wouldn’t be looking for a music magazine with an cover image which is based
upon a male model due to the target audience age may be attracted to the
magazine for a style icon as well as music so it doesn’t become a lifestyle
magazine. In order to replicate the Ellie Goulding magazine images a male
model wouldn’t create the same feel. As my model is young it adds a youthful
aspect typically the same age as my target audience which will attract more
people to my magazine which will be relatable In terms of the music genre
between the model and audience.
