  • 1. Welcome Ted Smudde Managing Director Candulor USA 800 436.3827 . 323.254.1430 . www.candulor.us
  • 2. Alameter developed by Dr. Frush 1960 • For determining the correct width of the six anterior arch segment • Selection of anterior teeth
  • 3. Alameter developed by Dr. Frush 1960 • For determining the correct width of the six anterior arch segment • Selection of anterior teeth
  • 4. Caliper • For determining the correct width of the six anterior arch segment • Selection of anterior teeth
  • 5. Papillameter developed by Dr. Frush 1960 • For determining the length of the upper lip and the anterior teeth 14 mm incisal papilla rest R. Horn, J. Stuck
  • 6. Rim Former Device for parallel forming/melting of bite rims to hamular notch Product benefits • Ensures parallelism between upper and lower rims • Functional design • Simple handling R. Horn, J. Stuck
  • 7. (ECB) Esthetic Control Base
  • 8. Rim Former Product benefits • Ensures parallelism between upper and lower rims • Functional design • Simple handling R. Horn, J. Stuck
  • 9. Use an extra hard sheet wax, soften over a flame and mold onto model
  • 10. While wax is still soft bend around aveolar ridge region
  • 11. Reference Papillameter measurement from operative appointment
  • 12. Carve divot in base of place calipers in divot, model and open to papillameter measurement
  • 13. Transfer Papillameter measurement to ECB
  • 14. Rimformer- an integral tool for creating the ECB Wax reservoir Hamular notch rim channel
  • 15. Melt wax keeping Rimformer securely in hamular notch
  • 16. Melt to Papillameter mark
  • 17. Mark midline
  • 18. Use Alameter measurement to establish buccal corridor
  • 19. Create bucccal corridor using the Rimformer Hold the Rimformer tilted to the lingual Start to melt from the tuburasity area, and melt forward to the distal point of the canine
  • 20. Alameter, Papillameter, and Rim Former ECB (esthetic control base) • Papillameter measurements for Proper length of centrals • Alameter measurements for Proper width of six anterior arch segment • Mid-line • High lip line
  • 21. Vertical and Centric
  • 22. VCR Kit – Vertical and Centric Recorder Kit Product • This Intra Oral balancer can be used for all dental restoration when vertical and centric relation needs to be established. Product benefits • Improves function of the dentures • Proper centric relation • Physiologic vertical dimension • Allows free movement of the condyles
  • 23. Vertical and Centric Recorder Includes: 2 Striking plates 2 Long bars 1 Short Bar 3 Long screws 1 Short screw 3 Threaded sleeves 3 Nuts 5 Plastic stops 1 Screw driver 1 Inking pen 1 Wrench
  • 24. While pressing the striking plate down, align to the alatragus plane of the model
  • 25. Level with the hamular notches
  • 26. Place bar in center of mark
  • 27. Top of the bar is to the middle of the retromolar pad Place bar from anterior to posterior, parallel to the angle of the alatragus plane
  • 28. VCR Kit – Vertical and Centric Recorder Kit • Vertical - Physiologic rest • Centric –Unguided Left to right and protrusive and retrusive mandibular movement produces gothic arch tracing
  • 29. Over opened
  • 30. Over closed
  • 31. Correct vertical - lips should be touching
  • 32. Step 2: Establishing Centric
  • 33. Ink striking plate
  • 34. Mandible in rear most position
  • 35. Mandible in forward most position
  • 36. Slide lower jaw forward and back Do this several times, moving the jaw forward and back
  • 37. Slide lower jaw forward and back pushing the condyles back as far as possible
  • 38. With mandible in REAR most position slide mandible right then left
  • 39. Do this several times, moving the jaw to the left and the right
  • 40. In rear most position slide left and right
  • 41. An arrow is created The tip of the arrow being the central bearing area Balanced pressure Balanced pressure
  • 42. Tip of arrow is the central bear area Repeat if necessary steps
  • 43. Place centric stop on tip of arrow
  • 44. Lute centric stop to the striking plate, with hole of stop over the tip of the arrow
  • 45. Patient will position pin in hole of centric stop
  • 46. verify the pin has dropped into the hole of the centric stop
  • 47. Mix a quick setting plaster
  • 48. The thickness of the mix should be like thick sour cream
  • 49. Load the plaster mix into a large barrel syringe, like the one you would get in the Accu-dent impression system kit.
  • 50. Patient must keep mouth securely closed, with pin in centric stop.
  • 51. Inject plaster starting in the back over the retromolar pad, and move forward to the tuberasity area
  • 52. Solid bite block for mounting on an articulator
  • 53. With proper vertical and centric to create balanced occlusion
  • 54. Thank you for your attention. 800 436.3827 . 323.254.1430 . www.candulor.us
