  • 9. Candidates’ Relationship with Employers Before they Apply The majority of candidates (53 percent) claim some relationship at the outset. There is a clear initial positive pre-disposition toward the employer, which suggests that positive association is ultimately the employers’ to lose. Referred Job CandidatesOnly 17.6 percent of candidates indicated they were aware of and usedemployees within a company to become their “referral.” Of those who claimedto have been referred to the organization, nearly one-third said they receivedand accepted job offers.
