  • We back up and understand 3 Simple Secrets. When it gets overwhelming - back up and remember 3 simple secrets. Simple Secret #3: You are connected to your networks. They’re your greatest personal and professional asset. You’re already here networking - so you know this. I’m going to run through a few key points about networking that you may not already know. If you ‘already know this’, then take some time to reflect further and go deeper. You can always be assessing your own networks and thinking about whether you’re connecting with the people you need to be connecting with.
  • Family Occupation Recreation Motivation
  • Your Brand is Online Remember that ‘Online’ is its own network category. If you’re still feeling like you don’t ‘get’ the whole online ‘thing’, we’re going to change that.
  • Getting your brand online effectively forces you to sort out what it is you want people to see. * Are you here tonight as a business owner? Are you self-employed? An employee representing a bigger company? A contractor or in sales? * For example, someone who’s self-employed or who has their own small business wants their ‘brand’ and their name associated with their product or service. They have a website they’re hoping comes up in a google search. * If you’re and employee representing a company, you have to consider that you want to brand yourself independently from your employer.
  • You Know and Build On Strengths
  • Knowing Your Strengths can be the most difficult aspect of the process - and it’s ongoing. You don’t need to worry about this - although most of us don’t really learn how to identify our strengths and skills (or even think we have them), it’s a skill that we can develop. Once we start focussing on our strengths and what we have to contribute, taking stock of them on an ongoing basis becomes not just easier, but it’s....
  • Motivating! Knowing your strengths and skills really helps you shift your focus. When you’re clear about your direction, the rest of the pieces of getting your brand online and expanding your networks becomes easier. Knowing who you are and where you’re headed allows you to make decisions - about where you want to be online. What to say at networking events, etc. Think about your motivation when you’re in the wrong place and don’t know why.

  • What Is 'Personal Branding?' Personal Branding describes the process by which individuals and entrepreneurs differentiate themselves and stand out from a crowd by identifying and articulating their unique value proposition, whether professional or personal, and then leveraging it across platforms with a consistent message and image to achieve a specific goal. In this way, individuals can enhance their recognition as experts in their field, establish reputation and credibility, advance their careers, and build self-confidence. ~ Dan Schawbel
