  • Meet People!Camps are social placesYou will make friends from all around the worldUSE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES
  • Lots of Activities on Camps!Camps have loads of activitiesList some of the activities at camp such as water skiing, horse back, skateboarding, football, circus, theatre, arts and craftsEven if you are not an instructor you can have a go, take part or learn how to supervise an activity whilst you are at camp
  • THE KIDS! The kids really do make your summer! It doesn’t matter if you haven’t got any experience working with kids, YOU WILL GET TRAINED DURING YOUR ORIENTATION AT CAMP. But any work experience is always a bonus! You will never have to work with the kids alone, you will always be with other members of staffThe kids are fun!!!
  • EXPLORE AMERICA! You have the chance to explore America whilst at campYou will be able to travel America independently for unto 10 weeks after Camp which is a great time to take advantage of all your new American friends hospitality and visit all the places you always wanted to and the ones you have never even heard of yetBy going with Camp America you can get 10% of with Trek AmericaTALK ABOUT YOUR TRAVELS YOUR FAVOURITE AREAS
  • IT’S A LAUGH!!! You should go to camp, because very simply it’s a great time you will have loads of fun at camp and after camp!!!There really is no other experience like going to camp!!!Video 1Introduce the first video, which was made this summer by one of our applicantsAt this point place the first video
  • So What Do You Do At Camp?MAKE SURE THAT YOUR REITERATE THAT ALL CAMPS DIFFER FROM YOUR EXPERIENCEAs we mentioned previously, it does not matter if you have not got any child care experience as you will have a week at camp during which time everything will be explained to you and you will get to learn about the camp itself and all of its traditions and activities Most people go to Camp are generally called CounsellorsAs a general counsellor you and other members of staff will live with and take care of kids aged anywhere from 7-16 for a period of at least 9-weeks. You will have to make sure the kids get up in the morning, sort themselves out, get to meals and all there activities or you will actually be supervising your own activities. What ever happens you will get to participate and have laugh at all the activitiesYour main job is to make sure the kids are having fun!!!You get time off during everyday to chill out, try out activities or just catch up on some sleep! You will get at least 1 day off a week to go explore the area you are living in and relax!!!
  • Work Behind The ScenesIf you like the sound of everything we have talked about so far, but either really don’t like kids or don’t want that much responsibility there is another option. You can take part in our Campower programmeList the jobs available for CampowerExplain the 3T’s. Time off – Campower get more time off during the day due to the work, Team work – You work and live closely with your team, making great friends. Travel – Just like being a Camp Counsellor you will get to travel for up to 10 weeks after campYou must be a student to take part in the Campower programmeGreat work experience if you are looking to go into hospitality or catering and just in general as a great team building experience. If this sounds more like something you would like to do then maybe you should check out Resort America, very similar to this programme but you will completely take kids out of the equation and work in holiday resorts, motels or golf courses
  • The Different Types of CampThe one thing to remember about camps in general is that they are all very very unique and have their own history and traditionsBut here are some of the generalized Camp typesPrivate Camps – Also known as the rich kids camp, they cost a lot to attend which generally means they have great facilities and accommodationUnder-privileged & agency camps – Funded by charities or the government, means these kids get to have a great summer which they generally would not be able to afford. This doesn’t mean that the facilities are not as good as the private camps though.Special Needs – these Camps provide a summer get away for people with physical, learning, emotional and mental disabilities from the age of 8-80. Again no experience with disabilities is necessary and unlike other camps there will be more staff to campers.Faith Based – This is not a cult, it just means that the camp will have a religious orientation. Don’t back off from the religious aspect of some camps Girl Scout – Self explanatory, generally in very beautiful surroundings, with rustic, back to basics accommodations,
  • Life At Camp!!!As we have just explained there are different types of camp, but there are activities and traditions that happen at all camps!!!All camps are set in beautiful rural areas and you will get to see all exciting wildlife you don’t get in the UKAll camps have some kind of waterfront either a swimming pool or a lake or BOTH!All camps have a wide range of sports and arts activitiesMost camps have wooden cabin accommodation All camps have very energetic and loud dinning halls which are the centre of camp life with lots of singing, dancing and eating!!!All camps will have a big mix of staff from all around the world!
