My friend Sajjad and I were sitting at the
railway station. I came to see him off. Sajjad

We use so that to join two sentences.
Example : A woman hold a child tightly so that he could not run off.
He tries hard so that he can be successful. ( before so that is action and after so that is
result of the sentence).
