Late Loyalists <ul><li>The 'Late Loyalists' or 'Simcoe's Loyalists' from New York and Pennsylvania </li></ul><ul><li>Offered free land for pioneering largely in what is now southern Ontario. </li></ul><ul><li>They may have remained loyal to the Crown during the war, but they did not take up arms at that time and as a result their properties were not confiscated. </li></ul>
  3. 4. Late Loyalists <ul><li>Often regarded as opportunist as they chose to move north for economic gain. </li></ul><ul><li>Since they are not deemed to have actually suffered for their attachment to the Crown, they do not bear the 'U.E.' title. </li></ul>
