  2. 2.  Canvas has a mobile app that is FREE.  Canvas works with all basic web browsers.  If you every have questions, about how to do something on Canvas use the “Help” link in the top right corner. It has great instructions and videos that will help you navigate! © Courtney Ashley, 2013

  5. 5. Setting up Course Homepage When students access your Canvas course, the homepage is what they will first see. You can customize the layout you want choosing from the following options: Activity Stream Modules Syllabus Create a custom page To change the layout, click “Change Homepage Layout” © Courtney Ashley, 2013

To Set up Notifications… Click on the “Profile” link in the top right corner. Scroll down to the Web services section and add the services you would like to use (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). To add your email: click on the “Add Email Address” in the top right corner. Please use your school email (JSmith@naperville203.org). To add your cell phone: click on the “Add Contact Method” and enter your cell phone number. © Courtney Ashley, 2013
  7. 7. Canvas Tools Discussions – Create discussion boards in which students can communicate with teachers and peers using text, video, or images. Quizzes – Assess students, using a variety of question types. Quizzes can be created or imported from other LMS like Blackboard. Content Pages – Create a page for a content topic or project.
