    Who are the New 7 Wonders Foundation?
    New Seven Wonders of the Worldwas a project that attempted to update the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World concept with a modern list of wonders. A popularity poll was led by Canadian-Swiss Bernard Weber and organized by the Swiss-based, government-controlled, New7Wonders Foundation, with winners announced on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal

    100 million votes
    Largest poll on record – this is in itself a wonder
    N7W is expecting a BILLION votes for N7W of Nature

    “Since being named a wonder of the world, the number of visitors (to Chichen Itza) has increased 75 percent” Juan Jose Martí Pacheco, secretary of Tourist Promotion of Yucatan.
    For every 100 visitors to Petra in 2006, we have seen 148 visitors in 2007, and are expecting 215 in 2008 – a compound increase of more than 100% in just over a year
