    Talk/News Show Host Audition - Presentation Transcript

    1. Dynamic Personalities Wanted Come work with us in developing and hosting a high-energy, educational yet fun, TV talk/news show for Central Ohio. As co- hosts in this on-going production, you will discuss various personal and professional development issues with our viewers and show guests. We are looking for a diverse cast (all races, ages, and genders encouraged to submit an audition interest packet) who are vibrant, entertaining, and articulate. Requirements: - Must be sincere, enthusiastic, articulate and interested in educating others. - Have a dynamic personality. - Be passionate about educating/informing others, NOT just someone who wants to be on TV - Passion above all else will denote a successful candidate. Having a background in broadcast journalism and/or training and development is a plus, but not required. - Have excellent communication skills. - Project a lively personality, be comfortable with impromptu moments and demonstrate the ability to read the TelePrompter/Cue cards Monthly filming of The REACH Show commences in October of 2009. After we review all applications, interviews and auditions will be scheduled. Save the date of October 8, 2009 – 6:00 p.m. - until, just in case you are contacted for the next phase of auditions) Only serious candidates apply! There is no pay, but other tangible and intangible perks exist (experience, exposure, great team atmosphere, copy of work for portfolio, and a little bit of local fame.)     2. Do you think you have what it takes to be a host of a live talk/news show? If so, you should audition for this role and the time to do so is NOW!!! The show is fun, educational, entertaining and sophisticated with exciting segments. We are looking for someone who is articulate, has charisma and can bring a certain energy or flavor to the show. Looking to cast up to two (2) talk/news show co-hosts. Send your actor’s resume, completed application and a 5X7 head shot or A professional letter telling us why you are interested in this role and what you can bring to the show, completed application and a 5X7 head shot. Auditions will be October 8, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. EST, one day only!!!! Successful candidates will be notified via e-mail on October 5, 2009 of the audition location as well as the short script to be memorized the audition. Experience is a plus but not necessary. We want someone with passion! The City of Columbus Human Resources Department Citywide Training and Development Center of Excellence (CTDCE) serves as the training resource for not only City of Columbus employees but also for residents of Central Ohio. Starting in October 2009, CTDCE will bring popular learning topics to the City’s government television channel, GTC-3. CTDCE’s monthly live show is an innovative platform for involving the Central Ohio TV audience. Each month’s live taping of a pre-selected training topic will repeat between 2-5 times per week within the month. In addition, the show will be posted to the CTDCE internet website and shared with the followers and fans of CTDCE via various social networking platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc). This is a phenomenal opportunity to engage the residents of Central Ohio with yet another service provided by the City of Columbus. To demonstrate our commitment to connect with the residents in which we serve we are actively seeking up to two (2) dynamic personalities to share in hosting the talk/news show format in which The REACH Show will take. Topics will be scripted in a fun, entertaining and above all informative manner such as leadership skills, career development, communication skills, stress management, time management, and many other interpersonal, personal, and professional development topics.     5. How will the process work? 1. Read this audition information. 2. Complete the audition packet (application, actor’s resume (or) letter of interest, and a head shot no larger than 5X7 of yourself) 3. Attend the optional informational & question/answer session on Thursday – October 1, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. EST at 750 Piedmont Road Columbus, Ohio 43224. 4. Deliver your completed audition packet to CTDCE no later than noon on Monday – October 5, 2009. (Note: you can send the completed packet to us by e-mail, in person or via US Postal Service) 5. Wait to hear if you are selected for the official audition to occur on October 8, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. (location to be announced). We will e-mail all successful audition candidates by 7 p.m. EST on October 5, 2009 with follow-up info and a brief script to memorize for the audition. If you are contacted for the audition – 1. Read all of the information sent to you via e-mail. 2. Memorize the script that is sent to you via e-mail. 3. Audition day – Dress in attire that you deem appropriate for this type of show. (How do you want to represent yourself?) 4. Audition day – Arrive promptly at 6:00 p.m. EST and be prepared to stay until auditions are complete. 5. Audition day agenda – registration, welcome, audition process debrief, Phase 1 – picture taking , Phase 2 – the memorized script, Phase 3 – on camera reading from cue cards and impromptu talk show conversation, and Phase 4 – interview 6.
