  3. 3.  Capurganá is located in the northwest of Colombia. On the Uraba gulf of Chocó, close to colombo- panameña border.
  4. 4.  In Capurganá the tourist can enjoy this too quiet place, there aren’t cars or motorcycles. Take pleasure in the beach with white sand and clear water, also. Tourist could walk by the mountains of tropical wet forest and admire spectacular waterfalls.
  5. 5.  You don’t want to miss close bays like “Sapzurro”, La Miel, El Aguacate and Playa Soledad. But the walking can be pretty exhausting, because the path can be extremely steep and really rocky. Is worth the ride by “El Cielo" and la "Piscina de los Dioses" , where the cliffs and the natural scenery is really breathtaking
  6. 6.  The best time for diving is between April and November when the waves disappear In summer time since January to march the waves are too dangerous and is impossible sailing.
  7. 7.  Every day is possible to catch a boat at 8:00 a.m , this boat has capacity for 25 passengers and sailing between Turbo (Antioquia) and Capurganá. The ticket costs US$27.00. And the journey takes 2 or almost 3 hours, depends the  Some hotels offer charter flights sea state. and the option to get all inclusive packages from Bogotá, Cali, eje cafetero and Medellín.  The flights are just in day leaving from Medellín at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. The flight takes 1 hour 10 minutes, and landing on Narciza Navas airport in Capurganá.
  8. 8.  Unfortunately the increase of guerrilla and trigger happy groups have alienated the tourism . On December 12th of 1999 Capurgana was victim of guerrilla attack , however since 2005 the government improve the security. On the other hand, the global warming contributing to the environment changes. Regrettably, the beach “La Virgen del Uvito “ was invaded by the sea and removed all the sand exposing the coral cliff.
  9. 9.  A social action ecotourism project, supported by UNODC, offers total rest between the jungle and the sea of Chocó. Capurganá has always distinguished itself as a tourist destination for nature lovers and for those who want to break by the sea, in excellent facilities, and away from the bustle of big cities. It is another type of tourism, far too messy of traffic and bustle of the clubs in some coastal cities, but it has always been characterized by these great qualities. In the past Capurganá was a territory victim of violence and trafficking in arms and drugs.
  10. 10.  The project proposed by Diego Alvarez, consisting of: restore the public resources to  Invest in housing  Roads  Education  Encouraging tourism. The project is growing and for these reason in this moment Capurganá is a place that the people known.
