  • 1. January 2014 Service Changes Public Comment Meetings September 17 and 26, 2013
  • 2. 2 Housekeeping items The purpose of this meeting is to take public comments on proposed service changes effective Monday, January 6, 2014. Silence all cell phones. Be considerate of meeting attendees and COTA staff. When it is your turn to make a comment or ask a question about COTA’s service changes, remain at your seat and we will call upon you. Comments and questions are limited to two minutes per person. Participants are encouraged to complete comment cards. Ask one question at a time so the appropriate COTA staff member may address your comment.
  • 3. 3 Timelines COTA modifies service three times per year.  First Monday of:  January  May  September  Public Information Meetings regarding final changes will be held in December, 2013.  January 2014 changes will begin on Monday, January 6.
  • 4. 4 Proposed January 2014 service changes Local lines
  • 5. 5 Proposed January 2014 service changes  #2 N. High/E. Main (Sunday)  Travel times may be adjusted to improve on-time performance.
  • 6. 6 Proposed January 2014 service changes  #3 W. Mound (All Days)  Service may be extended further south on Georgesville Rd., south of I-270.  Circulation through Wal- Mart on Georgesville Rd. may be modified.  Final alignment has yet to be determined.
  • 7. 7 Proposed January 2014 service changes  #5 W. Fifth Ave. (Weekday)  Evening trip times to First Community Village may be adjusted to better serve staff shift times.  Travel times may be adjusted to improve on-time performance.  #5 W. Fifth Ave. (Saturday)  Travel times may be adjusted to improve on-time performance.  #7 Neil/Whittier (All Days)  Bus Stop Service Improvement Project  #7 Neil/Whittier (Sunday)  Frequency may be improved from 45 to 30 minutes.  #9 Leonard/Brentnell (Weekday)  Frequency may be improved.
  • 8. 8 Proposed January 2014 service changes  #18 Kenny (All Days)  Bus Stop Service Improvement Project  #18 Kenny (Weekday)  Frequency may be improved from 30 minutes to 20 minutes during peak hours.

  • 10. 10 Proposed January 2014 service changes  #39 New Albany (Weekday)  Travel times on the 7:00 a.m. trip may be modified to improve on- time performance.  #40 New Albany Business Park (Weekday)  An additional a.m. and p.m. trip may be added due to overcrowding.  #47 Brice (Weekday)  P.M. trip times may be modified to better accommodate work start and end times.  #58 Dublin (Weekday)  Travel times may be adjusted to improve on-time performance.

  • 14. 14 Bus Stop Service Improvement Project  Project Goals:  Optimally space bus stops to balance the need for quick in-vehicle travel time with considerations of the distance that customers must walk to access bus stops.  Improve operational efficiency.  Reduce maintenance costs of underutilized bus stops.  Improve travel times, where possible.
  • 15.  The following lines are being analyzed for January 2014:  #7 Neil/Whittier (Local)  #18 Kenny (Local)  #95 Morse/Henderson (Crosstown)  All service will be discontinued from stops that are removed as a part of this project.  Bus lines that share stops with the above lines may also be affected by bus stop changes as part of this project. 15 Bus Stop Service Improvement Project
  • 16.  The public comment period about these changes will last from October 7 – November 1, 2013.  Maps of all proposed changes, and a list of all affected stops will be available for review by request and online at http://www.cota.com/BusStopServiceImprovem ent.aspx  Commuter Bulletins about proposed changes will be posted in early October. 16 Bus Stop Service Improvement Project Example Commuter Bulletin posted at bus stop.

  • 18. 18 COTA update  Ticket/Pass vending machine  Lobby hours are no longer extended at the end and beginning of each month  COTA is again offering service to home OSU football games from Crosswoods Park & Ride and Ohio Expo Center  Website is being redesigned to be more friendly for mobile users  COTA’s South and North Terminals Downtown will be undergoing refurbishment to accommodate CNG buses  COTA is soliciting for a project management consultant to manage project development for the Cleveland Ave. BRT  COTA will begin a transit system review in October  Continued planning of proposed Downtown circulator for May 2014
  • 19. 19 COTA update  New Albany Business Park  New Park and Ride proposed near SR 161 and Johnstown Rd.  3 morning and 3 afternoon trips from the Easton Transit Center to the Park and Ride beginning Sept. 2014  New Albany would provide a shuttle to move employees from the Park and Ride to the business park
