Innovation initiative CODE_n founded: international competition for new IT-based business models

CODE_n is an international initiative for fresh ideas in the field of IT and the internet. The network aims to bring together the sector’s brightest minds and smartest ideas, to provide ongoing support and to harness this force field for the seeding and fast breeding of new innovations. CODE_n stands for “Code of the New”, the DNA of innovation. The initiator is GFT Technologies, an international supplier of IT solutions and services. The partners include Deutsche Messe, Ernst & Young, Fujitsu Technologies Solutions, BITKOM and the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (ZKM). In 2012, CODE_n will be presenting the first CODE_n Award to a highly innovative IT-based solution for mobile life. The winner will receive prize money of €25,000 as well as coaching from the initiative’s Strategic Partner over a two-year period. CODE_n12 GLOBAL INNOVATION CONTESTCODE_n CONTEST■ CODE_n 12 gives young, innovative companies the possibility to challenge their digital business ideas and enterprises in a worldwide competition.■ The competition will take place in Germany, but companies from around the globe are welcome to submit their start-ups for consideration.■ The 50 most promising applicants will be invited to showcase their business concept in an inspiring environment at the CeBIT in Hanover, Germany in March 2012.■ Out of 10 finalists, the CODE_n Award winner will be selected by a jury of internationally renowned experts: IT specialists, top managers and respected lateral thinkersCODE_n AWARD■ The CODE_n Award session will be one of the absolute highlights of the 2012 CeBIT show as the leading-edge CODE_n Competition reaches its exciting finale.■ The winner will receive the “Breakthrough Technology Award for Shaping Mobile Life” prize of €25,000. 4

  • 14. NETWORKING – INSPIRING DIALOGUECONFERENCE PROGRAM■ Innovation is created through exchange. An integral part of the CODE_n12 program is that it allows the mutual exchange of ideas and provides an opportunity for intensive discussions.■ An extraordinary conference program, focused on innovation development and lateral thinking which provides a deeper and more precise insight into the lead topics of “Innovation and Lateral Thinking.”■ Entertainment is planned presenting up-and-coming artists from the international music scene every evening during the CeBIT. The aim of promoting young talent is thus continued throughout the event.■ The conference program will also offer a host of social networking opportunities for the Strategic Partners. 14
