  • Latest developments- fast moving #save libraries, so much info, helpful way of getting a grip
  • Ask questions of the speaker, forward on to colleagues, lets you archive your own tweets
  • One of my jobs- plan the conference, got most of speakers from Twitter- great way the find out what they are like
  • ...all from Twitter- links to websites, see their work
  • The best conference title ever, if not seen it, have a look- on you tube
  • Used the hash tag and twapper keeper to archive the tweets, collecting evidence – will use in publicity for next event , help staff persuade emplouers to let them attend etc
  • We trended- great thing about that is the big boss lady, Annie Mauger came up and told us, already made an impression I’ve enlarged the comment at the bottom of the page ...
  • How I keep in touch, up to date#savelibs Voices for the library, WI working with CILIP , online petiton
  • Advantage of being in-depth and up to date, no waiting for publication dates
  • Echo chamber – lots of discussion but inside a closed system- ie librarian to librarian- tips on getting outside of that- library advocacy
  • Local council Monmouthshire, communications officer, work with councillor to get them on line. Media surgeries in pubs etc, why not the library? Set up meeting – between Library manager and council comms officer, lead to....
  • Asked me yesterday about number of followers, not mot always quantity , quality- Leader of the Council and head of service following and commenting- priceless –imaging getting near them, otherwise?

  • Sarah- committee needs members from all across Wales to be representative of the profession. Met at mashlib, chatted, came to info day, now wants to be on committee
  • Some people doing work with apple store, talk about what you like as long as you are happy for all to read- common sense / some people swear, does not bother me, may bother some- if you are happy for you boss to read it – fire walls etc- people doing some work o it –Alysonmtyler etc
