The Golden Temple in Amritsar, India, also known as Darbar Sahib, is the holiest site in Sikhism. It houses the eternal Guru of Sikhs, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which is moved daily between the Golden Temple and the Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. The Golden Temple's upper floor and golden domes were covered in gold plates and features exquisite marblework during the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, leader of the Sikh Empire.
4. The Darbar Sahib is considered holy and beautiful by Sikhs because the eternal Guru of Sikhism, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, is present inside in it. It is moved to the Sri Akal Takhat Sahib at around 10 PM and then moved back from there to Sri Darbar Sahib at 5 AM .
