Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwisebut as wise, making the best use of the time,because the days are evil. Therefore do not befoolish, but understand what the will of the Lordis. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as tothe Lord. For the husband is the head of thewife even as Christ is the head of the church,his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as thechurch submits to Christ, so also wives shouldsubmit in everything to their husbands.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved thechurch and gave himself up for her, that he mightsanctify her, having cleansed her by the washingof water with the word, so that he might presentthe church to himself in splendor, without spot orwrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holyand without blemish. In the same way husbandsshould love their wives as their own bodies. Hewho loves his wife loves himself. For no one everhated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishesit, just as Christ does the church, because we aremembers of his body.
