  • 1. For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Crossof our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have beencrucified in relation to the world, set free from the stiflingatmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the littlepatterns that they dictate. Cant you see the central issue in allthis? It is not what you and I do—submit to circumcision, reject circumcision. It is what God is doing, and he is creatingsomething totally new, a free life! All who walk by thisstandard are the true Israel of God—his chosen people. Peaceand mercy on them!Quite frankly, I dont want to be bothered anymore by thesedisputes. I have far more important things to do—the seriousliving of this faith. I bear in my body scars from my service toJesus. Galatians 6:14-17 (MSG)
  • 2. Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not withthem when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “Wehave seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in hishands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the markof the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will neverbelieve.”Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomaswas with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus cameand stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Thenhe said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands;and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do notdisbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord andmy God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because youhave seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yethave believed.” John 20:24-29 (ESV)
