    • I. PROBLEM: “Adam & Eve in the Garden” turns into “Moses & the Rebels in the DESERT!”
    • And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,“How long shall this wicked congregation grumbleagainst me? I have heard the grumblings of thepeople of Israel, which they grumble against me.Say to them, ‘As I live, declares the LORD, what youhave said in my hearing I will do to you: your deadbodies shall fall in this wilderness, and of all yournumber, listed in the census from twenty years oldand upward, who have grumbled against me, notone shall come into the land where I swore that Iwould make you dwell, except Caleb the son ofJephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.
    • But your little ones, who you said would become aprey, I will bring in, and they shall know the landthat you have rejected. But as for you, your deadbodies shall fall in this wilderness. And yourchildren shall be shepherds in the wilderness fortyyears and shall suffer for your faithlessness, untilthe last of your dead bodies lies in the wilderness.According to the number of the days in which youspied out the land, forty days, a year for each day,you shall bear your iniquity forty years, and youshall know my displeasure.’
    • I, the LORD, have spoken. Surely this will I do toall this wicked congregation who are gatheredtogether against me: in this wilderness theyshall come to a full end, and there they shalldie.” Numbers 14:26-35 (ESV)
    • I. PROBLEM: “Adam & Eve in the Garden” turns into “Moses & the Rebels in the DESERT!”II. GOD FIXES THINGS BY DOING AN “INSIDE JOB” IN US
    • “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when Iwill make a new covenant with the house of Israel andthe house of Judah, not like the covenant that I madewith their fathers on the day when I took them by thehand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenantthat they broke, though I was their husband, declares theLord. For this is the covenant that I will make with thehouse of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I willput my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:31-33 (ESV)
    • And I will give you a new heart, and a new spiritI will put within you. And I will remove the heartof stone from your flesh and give you a heart offlesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, andcause you to walk in my statutes and be carefulto obey my rules. Ezekiel 36:26-27 (ESV)
    • I. PROBLEM: “Adam & Eve in the Garden” turns into “Moses & the Rebels in the DESERT!”II. God fixes things with an “INSIDE JOB” IN us!III. We respond OUTWARDLY.
    • because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lordand believe in your heart that God raised him from thedead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believesand is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and issaved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes inhim will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinctionbetween Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyonewho calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 (ESV)
    • Now when they heard this they were cut to theheart, and said to Peter and the rest of theapostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” AndPeter said to them, “Repent and be baptizedevery one of you in the name of Jesus Christ forthe forgiveness of your sins, and you will receivethe gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:37-38 (ESV)
