    4. 4. REGISTER: Register with CK-12 1. Click Register on the Home page ( http://flexbooks.ck12.org/flexr/ ). 2. Fill in your details in the Registration Form and click Register Now . *An activation email will be sent to your inbox.
    5. 5. REGISTER: Validation 4. Click Sign In to sign into the application. 3. Click the link in the verification e-mail to activate your account.
    6. 6. REGISTER: Sign In to Your Account * You may save your profile on your computer by checking this box. <ul><li>Enter your username and password and click Login . </li></ul><ul><li>Click Sign In . </li></ul>
    7. 7. REGISTER: Confirmation of Sign In <ul><li>You will know you are successfully signed in when the CK-12 Welcome page is displayed, with your name at the top right corner. </li></ul>

    9. 9. SEARCH : Search Content Option 3 . Start a new FlexBook, by clicking Create FlexBook . Option 1 . Select from one of the subjects listed. Option 2 . Search for a specific subject. Human Body Option 4 . Hover over one of these books and click the View FlexBook option.
    10. 10. SEARCH: View Results and Preview Content <ul><li>Click Action > View Details to view the HTML preview of a selected chapter. </li></ul><ul><li>Search results are displayed under the Books, Chapters, and Web tabs. </li></ul>

    12. 12. COMPILE : Compile Chapters Option 3 . When you move the mouse over the chapter, a Cross arrow appears. Drag and drop the selected chapter to the FlexBook Editor, while holding the left mouse button. Option 2 . Click Action>Add to FlexBook to add the selected chapter. Option 1 . Click the icon( ) to create a new chapter.

COMPILE: Sequence Chapters 4.Drop the chapter in the new position. 5.Click Save . 3.Drag the selected chapter to the new position while holding the left mouse button down. 2.Move the mouse over the chapter. A Cross arrow appears. <ul><li>Click Edit or Edit This Book to expand the FlexBook Editor. </li></ul>
    14. 14. COMPILE: Delete Chapters <ul><li>Click Action > Delete against the chapter you want to delete. </li></ul><ul><li>A warning dialog box confirming the delete operation is displayed. </li></ul><ul><li>Click OK to delete the chapter. </li></ul>

    16. 16. SAVE: Label Book Details <ul><li>In the FlexBook Editor, click the title bar on the right to enter data into the corresponding fields. </li></ul><ul><li>Click Ok , then Save . </li></ul>
    17. 17. SAVE: Label Chapter Details <ul><li>In the FlexBook Editor, click Action > Edit to get into the Chapter Editor where you can label the title and enter a chapter description. </li></ul>
    18. 18. SAVE: Label Chapter Details <ul><li>Click File > Save to save your changes. </li></ul><ul><li>Click “title” and “description” and provide this information in order to save the chapter. </li></ul>
    19. 19. <ul><ul><li>PUBLISH/PRINT your FlexBook now (purple section) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Further ADAPT the content you have compiled (orange section) </li></ul></ul>2 OPTIONS

    21. 21. ADAPT: Content within Editor <ul><li>Copy the content you wish to add. </li></ul>4. Paste the content in the chapter to which you want to add content. <ul><li>In the FlexBook Editor, click Action> Edit for the chapter from which you require content. </li></ul><ul><li>Close the Chapter Editor. </li></ul>5. Click File > Save .
    22. 22. ADAPT: Content from External Resources 3. Click File > Save . <ul><li>Copy content from an external source, such as a MSWord document. </li></ul><ul><li>Paste the content in the Chapter Editor. </li></ul>
    23. 23. ADAPT: Insert Images <ul><li>Click Insert > Image or the Image icon to insert images in the chapter. </li></ul>
    24. 24. ADAPT: Insert Images <ul><li>Paste the URL in the Image URL field to insert an image from the Web. </li></ul><ul><li>Click Browse to insert an image from your local machine. </li></ul><ul><li>Click Upload. </li></ul>
    25. 25. ADAPT: Edit Images 3. Click File > Save . <ul><li>Right click the image and click Insert/edit image . </li></ul><ul><li>If it is an image URL, edit the URL and click Update . </li></ul>

PUBLISH/PRINT: PDF Format <ul><li>Click Print Flexbook . </li></ul><ul><li>A Print Job pop-up appears at the bottom-right corner of the screen, informing that your FlexBook is added to the print jobs. </li></ul><ul><li>Click Save PDF to save your FlexBook. </li></ul><ul><li>Click View PDF to view the PDF version of your FlexBook. </li></ul><ul><li>Click Library and click the tab, My Print Jobs . </li></ul>
    28. 28. PUBLISH/PRINT: View My FlexBook Online Click View PDF to view the PDF version of your FlexBook.
    29. 29. PUBLISH/PRINT: Print Version Open the saved PDF and click File > Print .

    31. 31. Contribute to FlexBooks: Authoring Content Using a Wiki 1. To author content using the Wiki, navigate to... http://authors.ck12.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page . 2. Click Log In and enter you username and password.
    32. 32. Contribute to FlexBooks: Authoring Content Using a Wiki 3. Create the Home page for the book.
    33. 33. Contribute to FlexBooks: Authoring Content Using a Wiki 4. Make a list of links to the individual chapters using the Mediawiki internal link syntax and click Save . 5. Content is ready to be imported into Flexr.
