  • 2. 1. EMAIL Electronic mail or Email for short: • is the transmission of messages over communication networks • may contain text messages, files, images and other attachments.
  • 3. 2. WIKI According to Ward WIKI: • simplest online database that could possibly work • a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser
  • 4. 3. NETWORKING Networking: • group of two or more computer systems linked together
  • 5. 4. SOCIAL BOOKMARKING Social Bookmarking: • Tagging a website and saving it for later • Instead of saving them to your web browser , you are saving them to the web
  • 6. 5. HTML HTML: • language to specify the structure of documents for retrieval across the Internet using browser programs of the WorldWideWeb
  • 7. 6. PODCAST Podcast: • play on the word broadcast combined with the word iPod (one of the most popular portable MP3 players)
  • 8. 8. ONLINE CHAT Online Chat: • way of communicating that uses internet connection to access • offers real time and direct transmission of text based messages.
  • 9. 7. VoIP VoIP: • Voice over Internet Protocol • It is also referred to as IP Telephony or Internet Telephony • another way of making phone calls, with the difference of making the calls cheaper or completely free.
  • 10. 9. WWW WWW: • World Wide Web • consists of all the public Web sites connected to the Internet worldwide, including the client devices • one of many applications of the Internet and computer networks.
  • 11. 11. BLOG Blog: • short for Web log • a Web page that serves as a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual • typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author.
  • 12. 10. STREAMING Streaming: • is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an enduser while being delivered by a provider. • the term refers to the delivery method of the medium rather than the medium itself.
  • 13. 12. SOCIAL Social: • refers to interaction among people • they create, share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks.
  • 14. 13. URL URL: • The Universal Resource Locator (URL) • the `address' of a resource in the Web • could be a file, or an index, or some program
  • 15. 14. WEB FEED Web feed: • lets websites continuously "feed" you notices of their new content.
