RELEASE NO: 20111219 December 19, 2011 Contact Information: Kristen Kushiyama Office: (443) 861-7566 Email: kristen.e.kushiyama.civ@mail.mil ARMY SEEKING SUPPORT FOR CLOUD INTEGRATION CAPABILTIES U.S. Army RDECOM CERDEC to host Industry DayABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. – The U.S. Army’s Research, Development andEngineering Command’s communications-electronics center will hold an Industry Day Jan. 10 –11 to inform potential partners of emerging technologies that will facilitate the integration of newcapabilities that support Army cloud computing development efforts. CERDEC Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate’s Tactical Cloud IntegrationLaboratory focuses on developing and integrating new capabilities by “bridging” developers,vendors and solutions with operational users in a cohesive, isolated environment, said KesnyParent, CERDEC I2WD TCIL Program Management Office. “Program Manager Distributed Common Ground System-Army, or PM DCGS-A, hasidentified the need to establish operational clouds at fixed sites and at regional nodes to supportArmy intelligence data collection and analytics capabilities,” said Parent. In an effort to establish an infrastructure that supports the storage and management ofmulti-intelligence data and provide a computational framework that brings analytics to that data,CERDEC I2WD is seeking capabilities such as multi-intelligence, all-source analysiscorrelation; platform and resource allocation and optimization algorithms; predictive analysis -more-
  • 2. tools; language translation services; still image and graphic processing capabilities; advancedhuman intelligence exploitation; and advanced visualization and conceptualization tools. Industry, government agencies and academia with capabilities to fill these technologyshortfalls related to Tactical Cloud Integration are asked to propose solutions and possiblypresent those solutions and technologies to CERDEC I2WD.
