At the heart of the issue is the importance ofFBOs – and other groups – having the spaceand ability to promote their particularunderstanding of what it means to be healthy.

Faith-Based Facilitation Process

Step 2: Describe and Analyse• The influence of the State• The influence of the Market• The influence of an alternative telos – NGOs• The influence of congregations and clergy

Step 3: Reflect and Evaluate• Doctrine of Creation or Who do you think you are?• Doctrine of Salvation or How do you think you get better?• Doctrine of Sanctification or How do you live well?

Step 4: Decide and Plan• Be clear about telos – what is a healthy person?• Build partnerships with others even if telos is different• Use reflective practice as a habit• The “bottom line” of health ministry is building deeper relationships.
