    • Bulls – male cattle that can reproduce
    • Beef – meat from cattle
    • Calving – act of birth
  • 4. Sheep
    • Ram – mature male sheep
    • Ewe lamb – young female sheep
    • Ram lamb – young male sheep
    • Lamb – newborn sheep or young sheep, also the meat from a young sheep
    • Ewe – mature female sheep
    • Mutton – meat from a sheep older than one year of age
    • Wether – castrated male sheep
    • Lambing – act of birth
  • 5. Swine - Hogs or Pigs
    • Barrow – castrated male pig or hog
    • Boar – mature male hog
    • Gilt – young female pig
    • Shoat – young male pig
    • Piglet – newborn or very young pig
    • Pig - young hog less tha150 lbs.
    • Sow – mature female
    • Pork – meat from swine
    • Farrowing – act of birth

    • Hen – mature female chicken
    • Capon – castrated male chicken
    • Chick – newborn chicken
    • Cock (Rooster) – mature male chicken
    • Pullet – young female chicken
    • Layer – hen used for laying eggs
    • Broiler/Fryer – chickens grown to eat

    • Tom – mature male turkey
    • Poult – very young turkey
