  • 4. How do you learn to: • ‘address essential capabilities’ • ‘write a statement of claims against selection criteria’ • ‘write two pages to demonstrate key abilities’.................?
  • 5. Attend a workshop.
  • 6. Google (or Yahoo.....) ‘Selection Criteria.’ Read on-line hints or buy a book
  • 7. Relax – hire a professional ‘resume writer’. Caution: Could be a problem if selection panels are using your ‘statement of claims about selection criteria’ to assess your written skills.
  • 8. Still struggling to get started? or to get an interview?
  • 9. You may need a job coach.
  • 10. A good job coach will: • give you individual attention • tailor services to meet your job searching priorities • have a good understanding of the capabilities that employers are looking for • assist you to understand your strengths and career aspirations • coach you on how to structure written claims about your abilities to do the advertised job • provide interview practice
