  • 3. CALSTART’s  History   of  EV  Experience       ü  In  the  1990’s,   CALSTART  led  a   mulR-­‐party  effort   to  build  500+    EV   charging  staRons  in   CA  
  • 4. •  Today,  CALSTART’s  new  parking  lot  canopy  and  rooop   solar  panels  provide  clean,  renewable  energy  to  the   Pasadena  headquarters  building,  and  allow  our   growing  fleet  of  EV’s  to  charge  with  near  zero  emission   electricity.  
  • 5. •  California  public  funding  is  scheduled  to  decline   •  CALSTART  is  working  on  a  separate  iniRaRve  to  sustain  the   funding  state  incenRves  for  EV’s  and  infrastructure.

Project  Background     Why  Workplace  Charging?    ü  Fills  a  criRcal  gap  in  PEV     Infrastructure  needs   ü  Extends  the  range  of  PEVs   and  builds  the  market     ü  Creates  local  ‘PEV   showrooms’  for  info   sharing  on  vehicles   ü  EV’s  can  act  as  ‘employee   pool  cars’  for  day  trips  
  • 7. Analysis  of  Selected  Survey  Results   •  53%  (32  out  of  60)  of     respondents  currently   have  WPC  installed     •  60  total  survey  responses  from  public/private   employers  across  the  state  
  • 8. First  Movers:    Reported  Numbers  of  EVSE-­‐2012   Level  1  total:    324   Level  2  total:    469     44%  more  Level  2   Good  mixture   of  public  and   private  orgs
