This document discusses two Java Specification Requests (JSRs) - JSR 107 and JSR 347. JSR 107, known as JCACHE, defines a Java caching API and has been available for 10 years, focusing on Java SE with some JEE integration. JSR 347, known as Data Grids, is just starting to take form and will define APIs for distributed data grids, building upon JSR 107. It will cover asynchronous APIs and distributed execution.
