Why Jay-Z?: It’s quite simple (in my mind at least); besides the accolades and us both being from Brooklyn there is something more organic that happened and I just decided to pay attention and act on what was going on. In my first book, “Move the Crowd: 30 Days of Hip Hop Affirmations to Change Your Life,” 11 out of 30 (37%) lyrics used were from Jay-Z. I did not plan it that way, but that is the way it played out. through it and say, “You really like this Jay-Z guy.” It’s atthat point that I realized that his words has had a greatimpact on me and many of the people I collaboratedwith to create my first book.
