We like to celebratesuccess at Kelvin RoadSchool. I started to writeyou a letter about our latestsuccess, but, I changed mymind and decided to tell youabout it instead.

…every Friday all Year 3 – 6 children sit a basic facts test?…

…that the Year 6children only have 6 ½minutes to read, solve and answer 100 questions?…

…and that some cando it in 3 minutes?…

…that we use 12different tests so the answers cannot be memorised…

…that one pupil scored 97 out of 100…

…because he washaving a ‘bad’ day… …as he usually gets 100…..

…and he is only Year 4! Te Manapouri Year 4 Room 4

Mirinoa’s1st basic factsscore ever was 3…

…and now shescores an average of 97.2 per test

Tukaroirangi’s 1st basic factsscore ever was 7…

…and now he hasscored 8 100s…outof his last 12 tests.

Devontah’s1 basic st factsscore ever was 3…

…and now he has scored the most100s in his class?

Aries’ 1st basic factsscore ever was 4…

…but this year hehas scored 7 100s?

Teaka’s1st basic factsscore ever was 7…

…but this year hehas never scored below 98?

…that one of thesepeople are about towin our brand new trophy for basic facts?
