Situated just 30 minutes from the Wellington CBD, we organise all transfers to and from the lodge so you can relax and totally enjoy your experience with us. e 3200 acre property on a fully operational farm is broken into three main areas, the lodge, the track and the bunkers. While here guests can simply enjoy our stunning views and light hearted activities or opt for the adrenalin junkies dream. You can utilise one or all of the areas and facilities we have available. e Lodge o ers the comfort of an open re, seating for up to 100 guests and superb views of the South Island. is is the ideal location for your wedding, conference, team building event, corporate or private celebration. e Track is both a race and training environment utilising the latest Mercedes- Benz vehicles. e purpose built shelter provides a unique spectators advantage of the skid pan area & home straight but also a relaxed location for a light BBQ lunch. Adrenalin packed action including hot laps, hands on driving, 4WD all terrain park, shooting, golf and more. e Bunkers Boomrock has developed " e Bunkers", two ve stand sporting clay elds for corporate clients and shooting enthusiasts. Located south of the Lodge and set amongst tranquil native bush overlooking the Cook Strait towards the South Island.
  2. 2. THURSDAY 28 JANUARY MATAWHERO LUNCH Today, revived by the Searle family, Matawhero is true to the founders’ determination, producing individualistic wines of world class standard. Like the brand, the grapes are from Gisborne, carefully tended by the Searles. Kim Crawford was contracted to oversee winemaking from August 2009. His knowledge and love of Gisborne is well known, his skill with the sometimes challenging Gisborne conditions well noted in the many awards and accolades for several wines from the area. Delicate and beautiful, it belies its harsh upbringing. Waipara Hills is part of the same wild landscape where wines have survived perilous winters to produce complex and elegant wines. Located in Central Otago, the world’s southernmost winemaking region, Akarua was established in 1996 by long-time Otago icon Sir Cli ord Skeggs and rst vintage happened three years later. e region is mountainous, rising to over 2,000 metres and the vines are planted amidst spectacular alpine scenery As a viticultural region Central Otago is rapidly gaining an international reputation as the place to be, especially for producing Pinot Noir. Peter Robertson bought Brook elds Vineyards in 1977 and has developed the winery over time with modern technology but has retained traditional wine making methods. His global experience allows him to savour in his mind the blending of Oriental with European and so produce some of the best and most innovative dishes presented in New Zealand. FRIDAY 29 OCTOBER ALLAN SCOTT LUNCH Allan Scott Family Winemakers are just that - a family owned and operated vineyard and winery, with all family members involved in its day to day running. Allan oversees the daily running of the winery, wife Cathy manages the Winery Restaurant and Cellar Door, son Josh is Head Winemaker, youngest daughter Sara is Head Viticulturist, while eldest daughter Victoria is the Marketing Manager. Since establishing the winery in 1990 Allan Scott Family Winemakers have become a Marlborough icon and a sound name for outstanding wines and ne food. e family prides itself on viticultural excellence, using sustainable winegrowing practices, and ensuring the very best product is achieved for their customers.   22. 22. FRIDAY 19 NOVEMBER FAIRHALL DOWNS/TOREA LUNCH Ken and Jill Small have been growing grapes on a 32 hectares block of Fairhall River Valley land in Marlborough for well over 25 years. Ken and Jill Small established Fairhall Downs Estate and planted the rst vines in 1982. e vineyard comprises of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir varietals. All the wines produced by Fairhall Downs are grown on the 100% family owned vineyards to strict sustainable practices, which are currently undergoing conversion to organic. Torea now sits under their banner as another label and we get to enjoy samples of both. Join us for a 5 course lunch, 6 glasses of superb wine, claybird shooting and golf. FRIDAY 3 DECEMBER JULES TAYLOR LUNCH Jules Taylor has always done things her way - even as far back as the late 1980s, when she was head girl at Marlborough Girls’ College, her way and the school’s way seem to have been drawn on two very di erent maps. Today, her own wine label ‘Jules Taylor’ is no exception. Jules is passionate about the avours, the consistent fruit quality found in Marlborough and creating unique wines from these grapes. 2001 was the rst release under the Jules Taylor label. Hand picked grapes from single vineyard sites were selected to produce small quantities of Riesling and Pinot Gris. Since then, the portfolio has been expanded to include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay & Pinot Noir. As Jules always says - all her wines are best enjoyed with great food and good friends. Our favourite saying of hers is “at my place it’s always wine O’clock” and we couldn’t agree more so as the clock ticks join us for an afternoon of her nest.
