    1. Notes on “African Americans need to ‘raise hell’ about climate change” Brittany Wood COMM 655
    2. “ African Americans need to ‘raise hell’ about climate change”
      • Obama told the United Nations that over the last century, industrialized nations caused “much of the damage to our climate” and now must take the responsibility in fixing the problems.
      • Developing countries have suffered the most from global carbon emissions, and other environmental issues.
    3. “ African Americans need to ‘raise hell’ about climate change”
      • In the United States, a very large number of environmental problems affect African Americans and lower-income communities.
      • Black communities across the United States have suffered more from poor air quality to illegal waste dumping along with other environmental problems more than other groups.
    4. “ African Americans need to ‘raise hell’ about climate change”
      • In a report by the Commission to Engage African Americans on Climate Change (CEAC), temperature increases are expected to be more extreme in urban areas, where Blacks are more than twice as likely to live than Whites.
      • Currently African Americans spend an estimate 25 percent of their income on basic necessities like food, water, and energy, which is ore than most Americans.
    5. “ African Americans need to ‘raise hell’ about climate change”
      • The Commission to Engage African Americans on Climate Change (CEAC) urges African Americans to pay more attention and to speak out on these issues affecting their communities.
