    Balance
  • 2. Balance is what gives a design stability. It helps keep the design distributed evenly and keeps it from being lopsided. Balance gives a design a sense of flow rather than tension.

    Three Types of Balance
  • 4. Symmetrical Balance is like a mirror image. If a picture has symmetrical balance you could draw a line down the middle of the picture and both sides would be the same or similar. This type of balance is often seen in architecture.
    Symmetrical Balance
  • 5.
  • 6. Asymmetrical Balance is when several smaller items are balanced by a larger image on the other side. It also works if the smaller items are placed far away on the screen while larger objects are closer. This type of balance can also be used with color. Bright vivid colors are balance by neutral colors.
    Asymmetrical Balance
  • 7.
  • 8. This is when all objects in a design radiate from a center point in a circle.
