  • What is a Landing Page?
  • A Landing Page is a targeted web page that provides a customized sales pitch for the web visitor.
  • Landing Pages should get Targeted / Pre-Qualified Prospects since they came from a specific offer, often from a “Call to Action” Button.
  • Once at the Landing Page Prospects share their contact info to get the special offer. example: Free eBook or Webinar
  • Using Landing Pages to convert web visitors into sales leads.
  • Step 1: Make an Offer. Use Call to Action Buttons on your site or make an offer through your Pay Per Click AdWords campaign.
  • Step 2: Create a Landing Page with a contact form to collect your visitors contact info.
  • Step 3: Develop something of Value to entice prospects to fill in the landing page contact form. Examples include tip-sheets, eBooks, Webinars, etc. 10
  • Landing Page Best Practices
  • 9 Landing Pages Best Practices: Blink Test, Make Offer, Offer Value, Keep it Simple, Keep it Short, Graphics & Endorsements, Go Naked, Restate Value, Eat your own Dog Food.
  • Landing Page Blink Test: Can you get the gist of the page, offer and what to do next in 3 seconds?
  • Make an Offer: In order for people to take action, they need an offer. Make offers on buttons, banner ads, pay per click ads, etc.
  • Offer Value: Make sure the offer is something valuable enough that people will be willing to give up their contact information.
  • Keep your Landing Page Simple.
  • Keep it Short: Make your Landing Pages easy for people to read and figure out what they are supposed to do next.
  • Go Naked: Drop the navigation and other distractions from your landing pages. Keep the page focused on the sales offer only.
  • Restate Value: Make sure your Landing Page’s valuable offer is stated to reinforce what the prospect is getting.
  • Eat your own Dog Food: Answer the question “What’s In It For Me?”. If this offer is not something you would give your email address to get (be honest), what makes you think anyone else will?
  • Take Away. Landing Pages are Targeted Web Pages that provide a customized sales pitch for the web visitor.
