    2. What is an Acid?
      • Acid
        • A sour tasting substance.
        • A compound capable of neutralizing alkalis.
        • Proton donors that yield hydronium ions in water solution, or electron-pair acceptors that combine with electron-pair donors or bases.

    3. How can Acids be used?
      • They can be used to remove rust and other corrosion from metals.
      • They can be used in mineral processing.
      • They can be used to produce salt, esters, and gasoline.
      • They can effect dehydration and condensation reactions.
      • They can alter the taste of foods and drinks.
      • They can serve as preservatives.

    4. What is a Base?
        • Base
          • A compound that reacts with an acid to form a salt, as ammonia, calcium hydroxide, or certain nitrogen-containing organic compounds.
          • A group or molecule that takes up or accepts protons.

    5. How can a Base be used?
      • Bases can be used as catalysts for chemical reactions.
      • Bases can be used to neutralize acids.

    6. Acid–base reaction
      • The Acid–base reaction has nine different definitions
        • Lavoisier definition
        • Liebig definition
        • Arrhenius definition
        • Brønsted-Lowry definition
        • Lewis definition
        • Solvent-system definition
        • Usanovich definition
        • Lux-Flood definition and
        • Pearson definition.
