MTV's Rockband and Energizer Facebook Application
We created a Facebook Application for the promotional partnership between MTV's Rockband and Energizer.

The application allows upcoming Rock Bands to create a band profile page with functionality such as a biography, status updates, band pictures and video clips.

Energizer and Rock Band were looking for the band that had the best overall fan power and personality to power through a long lasting performance live in New York!

The most creative, entertaining and fan driven page was 'Jimmy Twinkle and the BAD' who won the chance to perform live for 20 hours at the Energizer "Advance Into Overdrive" event at the MTV store in Times Square.

    MTV Rockband was already a successful product, but how would Energizer boost its sales to gamers for console users in a nationwide campaign, crossing the virtual world with a live contest in Times Square?
    Challenge: Brandmovers needed to devise the social media strategy for enabling maximum participation and creating a competitive experience amongst serious gamers that would generate maximum buzz.
    Targets: Energizer Advanced Lithium Batteries wanted to gain a strong foothold amongst serious gamers as the battery of choice for extended console usage. Tech-savvy rock band enthusiasts would have sign up for the live contest and battles and simultaneously generate enough buzz as favourites to appear in the competition

    Platforms: Facebook , Twitter and Ustream
    Killer component: Target demographic could be best engaged through a ‘Leaderboard’ and a platform to showcase their talent
    Execution:Brandmovers designed a facebook application that would allow users to sign up their bands for the event with their own pages and recruit fans for appearing in the leaderboard.
    Bands were encouraged to post photos, videos, post blogs and recruit fans for a viral effect. The top bands would get to partake in the 20 hour live concert in times square
    The event was streamed live into the microsite and communication platform was opened for fans to communicate with bands through tweets.
  • 4. Integrated Campaign ManagementCase Files: Advance into Overdrive
    Results: The campaign initially got close to 1MM impressions from the microsite. The advance into Overdrive Facebook application beat expectations (50 Band entries ) to reach a record 116 entries.
    The battle of the bands phase – designed for increasing participation from players in all levels got 12000 participants , up 200% from an expected number of 4000 participants.
