The New Facebook Fan Box: Convert website visitors into Facebook Fans - Presentation Transcript

  1. The Brand Networks Orange Paper Series! The New Facebook “Fan Box” Convert Website Visitors into Facebook Fans
  2. A few months ago, we presented you with the implications of the Facebook Page redesign for marketers. The release of the “Fan Box” widget reinforces that Facebook is increasing its functionality to make it easier for brands to gain fans and keep communication lines open across the internet.
  3. Why now? According to analytics company Compete.com, Facebook grew to more than 122 million monthly U.S. visitors in June. The data also suggests that visitors to any of the 10,000 Facebook Connect enabled sites increased 10 percent to more than 71 million visitors- which means people are beginning to accept and enjoy the off- site Facebook experience.
  4. What is it? The Fan Box is a social widget that allows Facebook Page owners to attract and gain Facebook fans from their own website. Lance Armstrong’s Fan Box is featured here on LIVESTRONG.com
  5. What does it do? The Fan Box significantly increases the power of Facebook Pages by allowing brands, businesses, and celebrities to share Facebook status updates and gain fans directly from their website. Built on Facebook Connect, the Fan Box lets you take a piece of your Page and put it anywhere on the Web.
  6. How does it work? Users click on “Become a Fan,” authenticate themselves using Facebook Connect (or do nothing if already signed into Facebook), and become Facebook fans without leaving your site. The next time they visit Facebook, fans will see your updates in their stream just as they would any other Page they’re a fan of.
  7. Who’s doing it? Several large brands have already installed the Fan Box widget on their site in the mere days since its release. But it can be implemented by any size brand on any part of their site.
  8. Think of the Fan Box as a tool similar to an RSS feed, email subscription, or Twitter feed. Only it’s more powerful, because it’s social. We believe a “fan” has exponentially higher value than a name in a database or even a follower or subscriber. Fandom is the most powerful force in sports, music and now brand marketing. This tool shines a spotlight on your fans and provides a window into the club that is your best and most vocal customers.
  9. Who we are We leverage social networks to recruit, engage, and reward networks of your brand’s fans, friends and followers. We have been developers on the Facebook Platform since it launched. What we do We’ve got lots of experience building Facebook applications, creating and maintaining Facebook Pages, and integrating Facebook Connect on behalf of our clients.
