Shooting from aircraft is
not cheap. Plan before
you fly and shoot lots.
Time literally is money.

Be self contained, double
checked and ready to
go. You can’t pull over
and going back is
expensive.

If you are going to
shoot with an open
or removed door
be harnessed. This
applies to you and
your gear.
Flights suits help with keeping your bits
collected. Dropping something on
somebody from 1000’ is not only uncool, it’s
lethal.
Don’t show up for a helicopter ride at the
local fair in a flight suit that’s just weird
unless you are flying.

My Kit.
I shoot with two cameras a Canon
40D (17-85m) and a Canon G9. The
video on the G9 comes in handy.
I use a Holux GPS tracker. This little
device logs GPS data which I then
link to the images to create a geo-
tagged library.
It’s a kit that gives great results and
cost less than $2000.00.
Iphoto, Aperture, Photoshop and flickr
are my digital photo tools of choice.

Remember, sometimes your
pilot is going to say no.
There are rules to altitudes
and places one is allowed to
fly. Planning is everything.
