    1. When Article 12 & Web 2.0 Collide! ‘Risk Management in the Social Media World’ Marcie Roggow ABR, CRB, CRS, CCIM, DREI, GRI, SRS

What is Web 2.0? “Wikis, blogs, online communities and sales portals are Web 2.0 technologies that provide value to the individual or organization by enabling better communication, engagement, and collaboration with customers, prospects, and internal colleagues, thus creating stronger relationships with people with whom you want to do business or socialize.”
    3. What’s Ethics ‘got to do with it?’ REALTOR® Associations are using Web 2.0  to communicate with members Members are using social media sites to  communicate with clients and friends
    4. Article 12 REALTORS® shall be honest and truthful in their real estate communications and shall present a true picture in their advertising, marketing, and other representations.
    5. What Are the Odds?
    6. REALTORS® shall ensure that their status as real estate professionals is readily apparent in their advertising, marketing, and other representations, and that the recipients of all real estate communications are, or have been, notified that those communications are from a real estate professional.
    7. SOP 12-5: REALTORS® shall not advertise nor permit any person employed by or affiliated with them to advertise listed property in ANY medium (e.g., electronically, print, radio, television, etc.) without disclosing the name of that REALTOR®’s firm in a reasonable and readily apparent manner. SOP12-9, also covers the using of the company name.

    12. SOP 12-9 cont. Websites of REALTORS® and non-member licensees affiliated with a REALTOR® firm shall disclose the firm’s name and that REALTOR®’s, or non-member licensee’s state(S) of licensure in a reasonable and readily apparent manner. (adopted 1/07)

SOP 12-10 concerns Unauthorized framing of brokerage websites  Manipulating listing content in any way that  produces a deceptive or misleading result Deceptively using metatags, keywords or  other devices/methods to direct, frive or divert Internet traffic, or to otherwise mislead consumers.
