Jaarlijks stijgt de vraag naar textiele vezels met 4%.
Eenmalige inzet van virgin vezels wordt vervangen door hergebruikte
vezels .
Vezels zijn door cascadering langer te (her)gebruiken.
Textiel kan als substituut voor andere (grond)stoffen worden
gebruikt
Schaarste aan grondstoffen en prijsontwikkeling dwingt tot
zuinigheid en hergebruik.
Door de ecologische en economische winst ontstaat er een duurzaam
gebruik.
De ecologische footprint van textiel weegt steeds zwaarder.
Technologische ontwikkelingen maken duurzaam hergebruik

Texperium, a range of high-quality products, created out of the old KLM cabin
crewmembers uniforms.
Old KLM lady’s uniforms are recycled into fibres, new ideas, product
developement into new designs.

23. Textile Reinforced Concrete
TRC is an innovative composite material made from a concrete matrix and textile
reinforcement by glass or carbon, which permits the production of extremely light
and slender components. Beyond that the flexible reinforcement makes it possible
to create free forms and geometries.
In order to ensure a good bonding behavior between textile reinforcement and the
surrounding concrete matrix, very free-flowing fine-grained concretes with a
maximum grain size of 1 mm are used for TRC.
