    • Abandoned Space Gun Rusting Away in the Barbados Jungle Posted Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at 9:00 AM Ballistic engineer Gerald Bull—later assassinated while working on a space gun for the Iraqi government—designed the HARP gun. It was first built from a 50-caliber naval cannon, the type found on a battleship, and later doubled to 100 caliber, making the gun too big for effective military application, but seemingly perfect for satellite delivery. The cannon fired projectiles in a sabot that protected the payload during the firing and would fall away as the satellite rose. At its peak in 1963, the gun was able to fire an object a staggering 112 miles into the sky, setting a world record for gun- launched altitude that has yet to be beaten. Having shifted priorities in the face of the Vietnam War, the US and Canadian governments withdrew funding for HARP in 1967. The giant space gun was left to rust at its original launch site. It can still be reached by hiking along the Barbados coast.
    • The Soviets Built A Giant Gun That Could Shoot Nukes 7/09/13 JALOPNIK The insanity of the early Cold War manifested itself perfectly in the Atomic Cannon, built by the US in the early '50s to shoot nukes out of artillery. It turns out that the Russians built a nuclear gun, too. This is Objeckt 271, also referred to as 2A3 Kondensator 2P. It hails from the Soviet's Stalinist era, known by military historians as the "my tank is bigger than yours" period. Put simply, the Kondensator 2P was a huge self-propelled howitzer with a gigantic barrel made to shoot nukes.
    • Super Shin Kicker 07/09/13 – Hailing from Dakha, Bangladesh, Mak Yuree is a world renown martial arts expert who has spent almost his entire life training in 40 different fighting styles, including Varma Kalai, one of the oldest and deadliest forms of pressure point martial art. He is also an international authority on meditation, mind training and motivational speaking, but most average people know him as the guy who can break baseball bats with his tibia. Yuree has set a world record for most wooden baseball bats broken with a single kick, after shattering three of them in one go, and has since then performed the amazing feat at a number of events and on television. Growing up under iron discipline in military boarding school, Thundershin Man says he trained for nearly 20 years by kicking tree trunks with rope rolled over them.

    • This is the “normal” Barbie artist Nicholay Lamm created with the help of a 3D printed model of a normal woman. This white model was made using measurements that match up closely with CDC measurements of the average 19 year old woman in America. The end result is what Barbie would look like if she was a healthy, beautiful, 19 year old woman. As you see, she's not as tall or skinny as the real Barbie. Personally, I think she looks great! You can check out more angles of the realistic Barbie Doll after the break. + More >>
    • Ibiza firemen free tourist trapped in sex toy 05 Jul 2013 17:53 GMT+02:00 Medics in Ibiza were forced to enlist the help of buzz saw-wielding fire-fighters on Wednesday to free a German tourist from the clutches of a steel sex toy. Emergency services needed two hours to cut through the metal ring, described as a type of "armour plating", into which the man had placed his penis and testicles. The firemen on hand needed two changes of battery and a second rotating blade for their buzz saw to free the man, local daily Diario de Mallorca reported on Friday. There were "plenty of sparks" during the operation to remove the sex toy which measured 15cm in diameter. The two-hour procedure was described as "very complex" because the man became "more swollen" with time. He was also said to have complained a lot. To finish the operation it was necessary to administer a total anaesthetic. The fire crew received their unusual call-out at 10pm on Wednesday after medics at Ibiza's Can Misses hospital discovered they didn't have the tools to do the job. It is not known how the man, a 51-yr-old German, got to the hospital. This is not the first time that Majorcan fire-fighters have been called upon to free people from sex toys but "never one as big as this". After an overnight stay in the Urology department of the hospital the man is reported to have felt fine.
