The official photo was released along with Caldera's resignation and the official report on the flyover. …………Photo’s on following slides.

  12. Oregon group says no soda pop for prison inmates 5/12 12:22 pm   PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A government watchdog group says soft drinks and hard time don't mix at Oregon prisons. Common Sense Oregon awarded the state prison system its inaugural "Oregon Golden Fleece Award" for spending $773,000 on soda pop for inmates . The group's executive director, Ross Day, says the money could be better spent on hiring more state troopers or teachers. State corrections officials say they have an exclusive contract with Coca-Cola to provide soda pop to the 14,000 inmates in the prison system. But they've been cutting back and plan to reduce spending by more than half to meet budget cuts. Inmates at the Oregon State Correctional Institution in Salem can get a Coke with their meal only once a week now. Associated Press
  13. Man accidently kills wife with chainsaw Investigators say no foul play involved 10 May 2009 OTSEGO, Mich . (WOOD) - The human resources director for Allegan County was killed in a chainsaw accident Sunday afternoon. The incident happened around 2:05 p.m. at the couple's home, 765 Woodlea Drive in Otsego. Deb and Jerry Daniels were trying to cut down a tree in their yard when she was hit in the neck with the chainsaw her husband was operating. "I heard a cry for help, so I came outside and at that time I saw what was going on, and I rendered as much aid as I possibly could," said David Labonte, a neighbor and deputy for the Allegan County Sheriff's Department. "I'm glad that based on my position that I was the one that was the first to respond." But nothing could help the 39-year-old woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Labonte said he cannot relate to what Deb's husband is feeling. "I just can't even imagine," he said. "It's something I can't even fathom what he must be going through at this moment." Investigators will continue to look into the details of what went wrong, but say there appears to be no foul play. "In my mind personally, not having anything to do with the investigation, I honestly believe it was an accident," Labonte said. "I never heard them fight. They've always gotten along whenever you talked to them. He lived for her, she lived for him." People in the neighborhood say the couple is loved very much. Allegan County sent an e-mail regarding the accident to staff members that stated "Right now our thoughts and prayers are with her husband, her parents, and family...Deb's warm friendly personality touched those around her, and she will be sorely missed." Funeral arrangements are still pending.

  15. Springfield man gets 90 days for shooting wife during sex Wife insists the incident was accidental  Wednesday, May 13, 2009 URBANA — A Springfield man was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail Tuesday, May 12, despite the victim’s claims that a shooting last November was accidental. Timothy Havens, 38, of Hilliard Street, was sentenced to serve the time in a case in which he was accused of shooting his wife with a handgun. He had called 911 to report that he shot his wife “during sex.” Champaign County Common Pleas Court Judge Roger Wilson also ordered Havens to serve 80 hours of community service, attend anger management counseling, pay a $300 fine and serve three years probation. He was also ordered not to have contact with the victim. He did receive credit for time already served. Havens had previously pleaded guilty to one count of violating a protection order and one count of assault. Champaign County Prosecutor Nick Selvaggio said the case was complicated, in part because the victim maintained that the shooting was an accident throughout the investigation. However, he also argued some of the evidence in the case did not seem to match the story and there had been a history of violence in the home. The victim had also filed a protection order, which meant Havens should not have been in the home when the shooting occurred. Even after the shooting, both Havens and the victim were trying to reconcile and continued to violate the protection order, he said. Kevin Lennen, Havens’ attorney, argued Havens has never been in serious legal trouble previously, and stressed that the victim had maintained the shooting was accidental from the beginning. He said because the victim had filed with the court to rescind the protection order, there was some confusion about whether they were allowed to see each other. However, Wilson said he believes both parties simply ignored the protection order, and should be kept apart for now.   Springfield News-Sun
  16. Men should hold onto dongs, due to recent slashes Doctors are reporting an increase in the number of men being rushed to hospital after their sexual organs have been cut off by jealous wives or girlfriends. The good news for the castrated men is that the amputated organ can be successfully reattached if it is preserved properly. Cho Ray and Binh Dan hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have admitted several such cases lately. Cho Ray recently admitted a forty-year-old man from Tay Ninh Province whose jealous wife had done the dirty deed. It was the girlfriend who took him to the hospital along with his severed member in a plastic bag inside an icebox, while the shaken and contrite wife went straight to the police. TO PRESERVE A SEVERED BODY PART: Put it in a clean plastic bag Add 0.9 percent salt water (standard saline solution) Place the bag in an icebox and take it to the hospital Do not let the severed body part come into direct contact with the ice The doctors who reattached his penis say it was only successful because the girlfriend had preserved it properly for the 12 hours it took to get the man to hospital. In another case, a fifty-year-old man in HCMC was admitted to Binh Dan Hospital for the same reason. This time the culprit was the girlfriend while the penis preserver and the one who took him to hospital was the wife. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nhu of Binh Dan Hospital says the surgery was successful as the man had reached hospital around one hour after the incident. Other cases turn out poorly for the man as the wife continues to vent her anger by throwing out the severed member for some dog to eat, or putting it in boiling water to cook for a while. Dr. Duong Quang Vu of Cho Ray Hospital, who has become a specialist in reconnecting severed penises, says jealousy is usually the motive, but not always. On Wednesday, Dr. Vu reattached the penis of a mentally ill man from Dong Nai Province who had cut it off in a fit of derangement. The man’s father had preserved the organ properly and taken it and his son to hospital. The operation to reattach a severed penis is complicated, says Dr. Vu, because the doctors must reconnect arteries, veins, nerves and other tiny parts. “Now that we’re experienced, the operation takes about two and a half hours. It used to take up to four hours.” His colleague Dr. Tran Ngoc Sinh says 80 to 90 percent of penile function is restored if the operation goes well. Erections return about a month after surgery but ejaculation may be delayed and the penis could be a little smaller than before. Four out of five operations are successful, according to Dr. Sinh. The failures mostly result from improper storage of the severed penis. Dr. Sinh also mentions that it’s impossible to make the organ longer during the operation. Reported by Thanh Tung
  17. PHELPS 'IN MARATHON SEX ROMP'   May 11, 2009 Michael Phelps deserves another gold medal - for stamina in the sack, according to a stripper who claims she had a threesome with the swim champ. "The sex lasted for about three hours," Baltimore stripper Theresa White told Britain's News of the World. "Michael should get another Olympic gold for marathon love-making!" White, 25, claims Phelps invited her and some of her lap-dancing pals to his apartment, and that's where the action allegedly took a kinky turn after two hours of drinking. White said she approached Phelps for a three-way: "He told me he'd never had one before but said it would be with me and then pointed at another girl. "Everybody else stayed put while we went upstairs and jumped into bed," she said. A rep for Phelps did not return messages seeking comment yesterday.   N.Y. POST

  20. Revealing photo makes high school yearbook May 13, 2009   Tampa, Florida - Page 219 of the brand new school yearbook is all the talk at Sickles High School in Citrus Park. "There's a picture of a girl in the club pages," said senior Xander Morehouse. The picture is of a student with, what some are saying, are her private parts showing. And it is published in the school yearbook. "When I saw it, I kind of flipped out. I was like, 'Oh my God', but I think that she's probably like really horrified," said sophomore Caitlin Darden. 10 Connects caught up with the 16-year-old in the photo - and her mother Jeanette. The young girl admits she didn't wear underwear that day but says it was because she didn't want her panty lines to show. She says she did not show herself like that on purpose, "Absolutely not. It is ridiculously embarrassing." The Sickles junior says she found out about the photo when seniors got their yearbooks on Monday. She has not been back to school since. "I started crying, I was freaking out and I didn't know what to do. This is my junior year, it's so important. I didn't think I could go back to school knowing that everyone knew and had seen the picture." By the end of the day on Monday, more than two-hundred yearbooks had been passed out. Hundreds more went out Wednesday. With more than 2,500 students at Sickles, many more yearbooks are expected to go out over the next week. "As a mom, I'm not going to make her go [to school]," said Jeanette. Mom wants the school to stop handing out the yearbooks, collect the ones that have gone out and reprint them without the photo. "I don't want any yearbooks out there that have this photo in it because it is going to follow her," said Jeanette. The Sickles principal called Jeannette while we were at her home. Jeanette said he suggested she not to talk to us because it would be exploiting the girl. "He [the principal] said he doesn't want to exploit my daughter and here he is passing out yearbooks with her picture still in it and continuing to pass out pictures! It's like don't you get it?" exclaimed Jeanette. Hillsborough County School District spokesperson Linda Cobbe told 10 Connects the picture is not revealing at all. "We don't believe there is exposure in the yearbook.... It is a shadow." "Is it a shadow, is it not a shadow? My whole thing is, it doesn't matter, the photo itself is damaging to a 16-year-old and should not have been published," said Jeanette. "All of the administrators are trying to downplay it and saying I should really laugh it off and come back to school but I've been humiliated," said the junior who will not return to school for the rest of the year. 28. Nude spray-on tan case gets lawmaker's attention Associated Press Posted: May 7, 2009 BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A state lawmaker says he plans to sponsor a bill next session that would bar adult males from applying spray-on tans to female juveniles at tanning salons. State Rep. Bruce Borders, R-Jasonville, said he was shocked by a recent case where an adult man who works at a tanning salon applied a spray-on tan on a nude 15-year-old girl. Borders said he can't believe there's not a law prohibiting that type of activity. "I think it's important not only for the customers but for the business that no one be put in any kind of compromising position," he said. Borders said he, along with State Rep. Sandy Blanton, D-Orleans, will seek to introduce legislation next session putting restrictions on spray-on tanning. He said he isn't sure what form the proposed law will take. A Greene County woman, Brandy Holtsclaw, said she was furious when she learned her 15-year-old daughter got a spray-on tan while nude from a grown man at a Linton tanning salon. Her daughter had forged a note from her mother. The tanning salon's owner said that when he entered the booth to apply the tan last month, the girl had taken off all her clothes. He proceeded to apply the tan and then left her to dry. Holtsclaw said she looked into the matter and learned that her teenage daughter did not need parental permission, nor is there any statute to prevent a juvenile from being nude inside a spray-tan booth with a male technician. "Maybe it's not illegal, but it should be," Holtsclaw said. A California woman who owns an airbrush tanning training center who heard about the Linton incident has contacted Borders, offering to write a letter in support of his legislation. "There has been some outrage in the tanning community about this, and many people believe that the man should have taken some things into consideration before agreeing to what he did," said Kelly Richardson of Santa Rosa, Calif. Richardson said she would never allow a male to apply a tan to a juvenile girl. Her business also prohibits women from applying a spray-on tan to a naked man. She said her spray-tan clients often wear a bathing suit or their underwear, but that some do want a full body tan and wear nothing.   INDYSTAR.com
  29. Troops claim 'supernatural powers' after pygmy sodomy Article from: Agence France-Presse   The Herald Sun From correspondents in Kigali, Rwanda May 09, 2009 09:30pm GOVERNMENT troops sodomised pygmies in March in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, believing they would gain supernatural powers, a regional rights group said. "Some soldiers from the 85th Brigade sodomised three male pygmies to gain supernatural powers and protection in Kisa village in Walikale territory,'' the Human Rights League of the Great Lakes said. "The village chief was stripped and (sodomised) in the presence of his wife, his children and daughter in-law. "The children in turn were stripped and raped in front of their father." It said armed groups in the region also abused the pygmies. Elderly citizens and children were also being raped by the armed groups and wayward FARDC soldiers in eastern DRC, it added. The pygmies live essentially as subsistence hunter-gatherers in the forests in the DRC's equatorial zones and have been targeted by militia groups in the past. Among the armed groups roaming the eastern part of Congo are the Rwandan Hutu Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda rebels. Some of its members are accused of being among the main perpetrators of Rwanda's 1994 genocide by Hutus against the Tutsi minority. The United Nations and global human rights organisations have accused the FDLR of engaging in mass murder, rape and pillage of locals' property.

  33. Fish that triggers hallucinations found off British coast A species of bream, sarpa salpa, which can trigger hallucinations when eaten, has been been discovered in British waters due to global warming. 13 May 2009 The species of bream is normally found in the balmier waters of the Mediterranean and South Africa, was found by fisherman Andy Giles in his nets in the English Channel. Mr Giles, 38, caught the fish, which is instantly recognised by its gold stripes running along its body, six miles south of Polperro, Cornwall. "We were trawling for lemon sole and hauled up the net at the end of the day and almost immediately saw this striped fish, we didn't have a clue what it was," he said. "I had never seen one before and after taking a photograph of it I tried to look it up on the internet and called some friends to see if they knew what it was. "I put it in the fish box and brought it back for experts to have a look at it. "Now I realise what it was and the effects it can have, perhaps I should have taken it into town to sell to some clubbers!" There have only been three previous recordings of sarpa salpa in British waters before, with one of them being off the Channel Islands in 1983. James Wright, a senior biologist at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, said: "These are a fairly common fish off Tenerife, Malta and Cyprus but it is very rare to get them this far north. "It could be a single fish that was shoaling with a different species but it could be that there are more of them in our waters." Sarpa salpa are a popular dish in many Mediterranean restaurants. But according to marine experts, certain species of plankton-eating fish, like the sarpa salpa , can give off hallucinogenic fish poisoning if the heads or other body parts are consumed. The effects include vivid hallucinations within minutes of eating it which can last for days. In 2006 two men, one aged 90, were hospitalised in the south of France after eating sarpa salpa. The elderly man suffered from auditory hallucinations a couple of hours after eating the fish followed by a series of nightmares over the next two nights. The younger man, aged 40, endured similar effects which took 36 hours to disappear.
  34. Playboy Plans to Show Less Skin    Tue, May 12, 2009   You might see these ladies a lot less in the near future. Even if you read it “for the articles,” some proposed changes to Playboy magazine ’s publishing schedule might get you down. The original Playboy has made no secret of his fondness for the young women in his magazine. As Hef gets older (his 83rd birthday is April 9), they stay... The classiest of all the nudie magazines is considering “radical changes” to its flagship publication because of flaccid profits.  Those changes could include producing the magazine less frequently. The company, which closed its New York offices on May 1, will begin experimenting with a new publishing schedule almost immediately. They plan to combine their July and August issues into one edition as well as decreasing their advertising rates. Playboy, like many other print publications is suffering from diminishing readership. Between 2002 and 2008 the company lost about 600,000 readers and their profits are expected to decline 39 percent in this quarter, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations . Jerome Kern , who became interim chairman and chief executive of Playboy after Christie Hefner , daughter of Hugh, left the helm, said that on top of revamping the publishing schedule, the magazine will also undergo a redesign aimed at bringing in a “younger and fresher look to the magazine,” beginning with the June issue. The “younger and fresher” redesign could likely spell doom for those 10,000 word feature articles on the likes of Gore Vidal , et. al.,  that so many readers are eager to cite as their reason for cracking the mag open. All is not lost for the Bunnies, though. Kern thinks that Playboy can turn around its television business, but he's not holding out hope for the famous magazine. "It is clear that this company cannot continue to sustain significant losses in a business that now comprises less than one-quarter of the company's revenue base," Kern said during the company's quarterly earnings call on Monday.
  35. Personal Submarine - Deep Flight Super Falcon This submarine named " deep flight ". It's a submersible with a pair of wings that can "fly" underwater. The sub does not have ballast tanks, but dives because of its forward speed---like a penguin does when it hunts. It more like a fighter jet, with thin body, two wings, two seats and two tail fins. "The sub will have an operating depth of 400 feet, a speed of 5 knots and an underwater time of roughly 4 hours on a single battery charge. Like the airplane it will do rolls, loops and can "porpoise" when it surfaces (the speed in a power ascent can exceed10 knots.”   ....  base price: $1.3 million .
  36. Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez launches affordable “Penis” phone May 12th, 2009 Venezuela’s president Hugo Chavez has just done what no other cellphone company in the world would dare do. Chavez has launched the first ever “penis” phone. Wait, what? In an unprecedented product launch, Hugo Chavez became the first sitting national leader to launch a cellphone. Hugo took the time during his weekly TV show, “Hello President,” to unveil to the world the new “Vergatorio” cellphone. He proclaimed to the world that “This telephone will be the biggest seller not only in Venezuela but the world.” Chavez went on to add that “whoever doesn’t have a Vergatario is nothing.” For those not too versed in Venezuelan slang, the name “vergatorio” is derived from the local slang for “penis.” You can imagine the look on Chavez’s PR team when he uttered those fateful words. Chavez started down the road to his historic “penis” cellphone launch when he nationalized the cellphone manufacturer that made the Vergatorio. The President-turned-cellphone-pitchman wanted to make a cellphone that was “light, beautiful, good and cheap.” The end result is the unfortunately named Vergatorio. Horribly inappropriate model name notwithstanding, Chavez’s vision for the Vergatorio is noble. The Venezuelan President wanted to put “science and technology” to work for “the service of the people not the elites.” But, we have a feeling that Hugo’s pitch isn’t going to win over too many hearts and minds. People just don’t like being told they’re nothing without a “penis” phone…
  37. Tennessee voids marriage of transgender pair ASSOCIATED PRESS • May 14, 2009   CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee authorities have invalidated the 18-month-old marriage of a transgender couple, saying the state considers both to be men. Jo T. Rittenberry, 46, was born a man and claims to have had sex reassignment surgery in Canada. Rittenberry had officials legally change the gender on his Kentucky birth certificate and got a Tennessee driver's license saying he is female, The Leaf-Chronicle of Clarksville reported. Rittenberry married Jeffery Scott Phillips, 36, in November 2007. Kelly Farmer, director of communications at the Davidson County Clerk's Office, said Tennessee authorities will not honor the marriage because Rittenberry was not born a woman. Tennessee does not permit same-sex marriage and does not recognize gender change even after sex reassignment surgery. "The marriage is real to me," said Rittenberry, who is also known as Terri Jo Colby. "It wasn't anything planned to be deceptive. I'm not gay, and Jeff ain't either."
  38. Amish teen ticketed for having beer in buggy LEON, N.Y. — Police cracking down on rowdy Amish youths ticketed a teenager for having beer in his horse-drawn buggy when they pulled him over on a western New York road. They said the 17-year-old was charged with underage possession of alcohol after he was stopped by deputies late Monday night in the town of Leon, 40 miles south of Buffalo. Detective Nathan Root said the teen admitted drinking beer, but passed a field sobriety test. Root says another Amish man in the buggy, a 22-year-old, was charged with providing the beer. Both are scheduled to be arraigned June 22. Patrols were stepped up after an Amish elder's property was vandalized when he confronted youths about their drinking and listening to radios.

  40. Hollywood Loves Fidel--But Why?  Friday, May 8, 2009 "Fidel Castro is a genius!” gushed Jack Nicholson after a visit with the Cuban Fuhrer in 1998. “We spoke about everything,” the actor rhapsodized further. “Castro is a humanist like President Clinton. Cuba is simply a paradise!” Jack Nicholson has been saying such things for years now. Many of his Hollywood cohorts follow suit. Francis Ford Coppola, Kevin Costner, Steven Spielberg, Woody Harrelson, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Leo DiCaprio, Chevy Chase and Robert Redford, among many others, have all waxed euphoric on Castro and his island prison. While holding up the book ” Fidel: Hollywood’s Favorite Tyrant ” on his TV show, Bill O’Reilly called these celebs “Hollywood pinheads.” But there might be more to these celebrity plugs for a tyrant who jailed more of his subjects than did Hitler or Stalin than the usual celebrity vacuity upstairs. “My job was to bug their hotel rooms,” says high-ranking Cuban intelligence defector Delfin Fernandez. “With both cameras and listening devices. Most people have no idea they are being watched while they are in Cuba. But their personal activities are filmed under orders from Castro himself.” And according to some sources, Havana, given the desperation of its brutalized and impoverished residents, has recently topped Bangkok as the world mecca for child sex. “He [Delfin Fernandez] has not only met some of the most famous men in the world,” says the London Daily Mirror about the Cuban defector, “he’s also spied on them and been witness to some of their most innermost secrets.” “When the celebrity visitors arrived at the hotels Nacional, Melia Habana and Melia Cohiba,” says Fernandez, “we already had their rooms completely bugged with sophisticated taping equipment. But not just the rooms, we’d also follow the visitors around. Sometimes we covered them 24 hours a day. They had no idea we were tailing them.”
  41. Drug busts 'force up cocaine price‘ May 14, 2009 Drug busts by the UK's organised crime fighting agency have helped to force dealers to hike their wholesale cocaine prices to record levels, its boss has claimed. Trevor Pearce, head of enforcement at the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), said prices per kilo had jumped from £39,000 last year to more than £45,000 as a result of undercover work and seizure operations. But his findings come amid a warning that UK cocaine's purity level is currently the lowest on record, as gangs use increasing amounts of chemicals like insecticide and worming powder to dilute the drug. Mr Pearce said: "There is a discernible effect that we are now seeing in relation to the availability of cocaine both in Europe and also across the UK. We are now seeing high-quality cocaine at about £45,000 per kilo wholesale in the UK. That's significantly higher than it has been and has to be indicative of the pressure which the importers are under." Soca estimates of wholesale cocaine prices two years ago were £35,000, according to the BBC. By the end of last year, the price had risen to £39,000 and in the first few months of this year the price hit the record level of more than £45,000 per kilo. Mr Pearce said: "We are seeing wholesale prices of cocaine rising across Europe, in Spain and Belgium. We think that is due to a large degree to the strategy of working in South America, the Caribbean, across the Atlantic and with European partners - tackling it in a different way." Soca, which was billed as the UK's answer to the US's FBI when it was set up in 2006, has come under pressure over the past year to prove its worth. The agency said its activities in the run-up to Christmas stopped 10 tonnes of street-quality cocaine powder being sold in Britain. But figures obtained by the BBC suggest almost a third, or 31%, of police cocaine seizures are now less than 9% pure, the lowest recorded purity level. Associated Press
  42. "For A Good Time, Call..." Iowa woman eschews Craigslist for elevator wall in prostitution case MAY 13--With Craigslist today announcing a crackdown on classified ads offering sex for money, prostitutes everywhere will have to come up with alternative ways to promote their illegal services. However, the marketing scheme cooked up recently by one Iowa woman should not be copied. Samantha Jo Daniel, 18, was arrested last Friday after cops learned of a handwritten offer scrawled on an elevator wall in an apartment building in Marshalltown. The guerilla advertisement read, "Will Fuck for $," and included a phone number. Daniel was nabbed in an undercover sting operation and charged with a misdemeanor prostitution count, according to a police press release . She was booked into the Marshall County Jail, where the above mug shot was taken. "In other cities, you hear about it in the personal ads and on Craigslist, but we just don't see much of that here," one police official remarked to the Times-Republican newspaper.

  45. Posted: Tuesday, 12 May 2009 1:43PM Feds: Joliet man's porn collection included toddlers CHICAGO (STNG)  -- A 42-year-old southwest suburban man faces federal charges of possessing and sharing child pornography, some depicting children who appeared to be as young as 1 or 2. According to the complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago on Tuesday, an undercover FBI agent in February signed onto a file-sharing network on which users "befriend" each other in order to share files. The agent accessed the file folders for a user who went by the name of "Pantielover" and downloaded 53 files, some of which contained apparent child pornography. There were at least a half dozen images depicting sexual activity involving young girls between the ages of 2-8, the complaint says. In March, the agent shared some adult porn with "Pantielover," who it was determined lived at 2620 E. Cass St. in Joliet. In return, he allegedly got more child porn from the user, including videos involving what appeared to be forced sexual contact with girls as young as 1 or 2, according to the complaint. In an online conversation, the suspect told the undercover agent that two of the girls, ages 4 and 7, were his own, whom he was molesting. His claims appear unfounded, according to the complaint. In April, another FBI agent joined the investigation, connected to the suspect's shared files list, and determined he was sharing more than 2,000 files, the majority of which appeared to be child porn. Agents found there were multiple people at the Cass Street address, but a search of the state's sex offender registry showed that one resident, Dennis Lee Garthus, was a registered sex offender. A search warrant was obtained Monday and on Tuesday agents went to the home and found a computer turned on and logged onto the same file-sharing network, according to the complaint. The agent observed that the user who was logged on was named "Pantielover." Agents interviewed Garthus, who told them he had gotten the child porn images through e-mail or the file-sharing network, and had also distributed those images through the network or e-mail. Court information for Garthus was not immediately available Tuesday afternoon. The Chicago Sun-Times.
