What to expect from an erratic North KoreaMarch 11, 2013FoxNews.comUnfortunately for America and our allies in South Korea and Japan, the threat posed by North Korea today is perhapsthe gravest national security threat we will face in the near term. North Korea’s ballistic missile capability, coupledwith its ever increasing nuclear capability, is no laughing matter and all indications are that it’s only going to getworse.--A massive North Korean mobilization is presently underway, complete with troop movements, submarines on alertand missile batteries being deployed.--Look for 2 more nuclear bomb tests and 1 other rocket launch to further test their ballistic capability this year. Infact, new preparations at the Puggye-ri nuclear bomb test site have been detected since last month’s test.--North Korea and Iran are both using the same miniaturized warhead design that can be traced back to the infamousPakistani scientist, Dr. A.Q. Khan.--Iranian intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) technicians are continuing to work on the next North Korean missiletest.--North Korea has obtained proven missile control electronics from Russia and China.--It appears that North Korea is expanding a new missile launch site at Musudan-ri, which will be much bigger thanthe missile test site at Tongchang-ri, where the Unha-3 rocket was launched in December, 2012.And if this isn’t bad enough, additional OSINT suggests that a plan for a high altitude nuclear burst over the Pacific ison the books.
Further, Dr. Vincent Pry from the U.S. Nuclear Strategy Forum, has recently made a convincing casethat North Korea possesses an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) nuclear warhead which would havethe ability to take out a national power grid and destroy critical infrastructures throughout the U.S.The recent power struggle in China is also spilling over into the North Korean situation. China helpeddraft the recent U.N. Security Council Resolution and sanctions. However, Iranian PresidentMahmoud Ahmadinejad approved many millions of dollars in payment to North Korea, in conjunctionwith the February nuclear bomb test, through Beijing’s Bank of Kunlun. The North Korean threat is real, it’s here and it’s not getting better.President George W. Bush understood that key military bases in the western United Statesrepresented one of our best hopes of dealing with the increasing North Korean threat and deployedmissile interceptors to Fort Greely, Alaska.Unfortunately, President Obama has severely cut missile defense and last year announced plans todecommission Missile Field 1 at Fort Greely. Originally, there were to be three silo fields housinginterceptors. Today, Fort Greely is down to one. The time is now for the administration to reverse itsdecision. In addition to taking steps to protect the western United States from the North Korean threat (NorthKorea’s long range ballistic missiles are now believed to have a range of 6,200 miles), it’s time now togive Kim Jong-Un what he fears most—an educated and well informed citizenry. The North Korean threat is the greatest nuclear weapons challenge to the United States since theCold War. It’s time for America to act and to lead.
Shape-Shifting Jesus Described in Ancient Egyptian TextLiveScience.com3-13-2013A newly deciphered Egyptian text, dating back almost 1,200 years, tells part of the crucifixion story of Jesus with apocryphal plot twists, some of which have never been seen before.Written in the Coptic language, the ancient text tells of Pontius Pilate, the judge who authorizedJesus crucifixion, having dinner with Jesus before his crucifixion and offering to sacrifice his ownson in the place of Jesus. It also explains why Judas used a kiss, specifically, to betray Jesus —because Jesus had the ability to change shape, according to the text — and it puts the day of thearrest of Jesus on Tuesday evening rather than Thursday evening, something that contravenes theEaster timeline. The discovery of the text doesnt mean these events happened, but rather that some peopleliving at the time appear to have believed in them, said Roelof van den Broek, of UtrechtUniversity in the Netherlands, who published the translation in the book "Pseudo-Cyril ofJerusalem on the Life and the Passion of Christ"(Brill, 2013).
Asteroid 2013 EN Buzzes Earth TodayMarch 10th, 2013 –Asteroid watching is becoming big business. Theres nothing like ameteor strike in a fairly well populated area and injuring 1500people to get everybody taking the threat seriously. And now, NASA is being pushed by Congress to set up monitoring positions all around the globe for advancedwarnings on the scale of "Armageddon", the 1998 movie that predicted the future, right down to the first blackpresident and the rise of Ben Affleck. But theres a problem. It turns out, asteroids which could harm the Earth, if not destroy it, are really hard to see and track in time to doanything about it.Take Asteroid 2013 EN for example. It will pass in Earths vicinity today at a comfortable 279,000 miles or so. Thats a little more than the distancebetween Earth and the Moon. The only problem is, it was only discovered on Thursday. At least Bruce Willis hadtwo and a half weeks.Asteroid 2013 EN is no planet killer. But it could wipe out a whole city, if it were to strike the planet. So whats lurking out there capable of some real destruction at only a couple of days notice? Not even Bruce Willis can answer that question.

Saudi Arabia may stop beheading due to swordsmen shortagesAhram Online , Sunday 10 Mar 2013A joint Saudi committee composed of representatives of the ministriesof interior, justice and health is mulling the replacement of beheadingwith firing squads for capital sentences due to shortages in governmentswordsmen, Saudi daily Al-Youm reported on Sunday. The committee argued that such a step, if adopted, would not violate Islamic law, allowing heads – or emirs – of the countrys 13 local administrativeregions to begin using the new method when needed. The ultra-conservative Gulf kingdom beheaded 76 people in 2012, according to an AFP tally based on official figures. Human Rights Watch(HRW) put the number at 69.Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under Saudi Arabias strict version of Sharia, orIslamic Law. So far this year, three people have been executed. The beheading issue has always been a source of tension between Saudi Arabia and the international community.Last month, Saudi Arabia slammed international reactions to its beheading of a Sri Lankan woman convicted of killing her employers baby. The case soured the kingdoms diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka, which on Thursday recalled its ambassador to Saudi Arabia in protest. The UNs main human rights body on Friday expressed "deep dismay" at the beheading, while the European Union said it had asked Saudiauthorities to commute the death penalty. Riyadh, however, rejected the statements as "external interference" in its domestic affairs.Saudi Arabia "respects... all rules and laws and protects the rights of its people and residents, and completely rejects any intervention in itsaffairs and judicial verdicts, whatever the excuse," the spokesman said.
Doctor accused of severing babies spines with scissors in house of horrorsCNNMon March 4, 2013Dr. Kermit Gosnell is accused of performing illegal abortions past the 24-week limit prescribed by law.(CNN) -- A Pennsylvania doctor is accused of running a "house of horrors" in which he performedabortions past the 24-week limit allowed by law -- even allegedly as late as eight months into pregnancy. He used scissors, authorities say, to sever the spinal cords of newborns who emergedfrom their mothers still alive. Now Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72, is about to stand trial. He has pleaded not guilty. If hes convicted, prosecutors want him put to death."A doctor who cuts into the necks severing the spinal cords of living, breathing babies, who would survive with proper medicalattention, is committing murder under the law," Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said.A grand jury investigation determined that health and licensing officials had received repeated reports about Gosnells practices for twodecades, but had taken no action, Williams said..Gosnell faces eight counts of murder: for the deaths of seven babies, and in the case of a 41-year-old woman who died of an anestheticoverdose during a second-trimester abortion. The babies were born alive in the sixth, seventh and eighth months of pregnancy, but their spinal cords were severed with scissors,Williams said."It was a house of horrors beyond any type of definition or explanation I can humbly try to give," Williams told CNN in January 2011,shortly after Gosnell was charged."And its very sad for the women that were there, that were subjected to such horrific and barbaric -- I would say medical treatment, butit wasnt medical treatment.“The practice, called the Womens Medical Society, served mostly low-income minority women for years. Gosnell is not a board-certifiedobstetrician or gynecologist, Williams said.Originally, he said, the clinic used another doctor as a consultant so it could receive a license to perform abortions in 1979."The doctor gained a reputation. People far and wide knew that he performed abortions at any time," Williams said.
