    • An Israeli health and beauty spa is offering a snake massage for its customers 22 Oct 2008 The treatment consists of six non-venomous snakes massaging the client's aching muscles and joints. Ada Barak's snake spa, in Talmei Elazar, northern Israel, uses California and Florida king snakes, corn snakes and milk snakes for the massages, which cost £40 ($70). Miss Barak believes that physical contact with the reptiles can be a relaxing experience. She says that she was inspired by her belief that once people get over any initial misgivings, they find physical contact with the snakes to be stress relieving. "Some people said that holding the snakes made them feel better, relaxed," she said "One old lady said it was soothing, like a cold compress." The size of the snakes depends on the type of massage - the larger ones are said to alleviate deeper muscle tensions and the smaller ones create a 'fluttering' effect. All are the snakes used are non-venemous. Miss Barak began offering the service at the Talmey El'Azar tourist attraction in 2006 and now most of her income comes from exhibiting plants at her carnivorous plant farm, which eat everything from insects to small mammals. She appeared on Tyra Banks Show, an American chat show, in April for an episode entitled "Beauty Tips Around the World".   Telegraph.uk
    • Iran unveils plan for women's car BBC News, Tehran   Iran has announced plans for a new car designed specially for women. Its features will include automatic transmission, parking and navigation aids and a jack for changing tires without getting grease on your chador. Iran's biggest car producer, Iran Khodro, says it will come in a range of feminine colours and interior designs. Other features are proposed to make it easier for women when they are doing the family shopping or taking their children to school. If that suggests a degree of sexist stereotyping in Iranian society, it is, just possibly, true. Despite the fact that Iranian women now make up around 60% of university students, Iranian men have yet to absorb fully the message of equality. A recent study by an academic from Allameh Tabatabaii University in Tehran found that working Iranian women believed that the domestic chores should be shared more equally. However, according to the report "their husbands think and act traditionally". Indeed, the idea of married men cooking for their wives is viewed in Iran as highly eccentric. As a result, the report concludes, Iran's new generation of working women "are obliged to play the role of a superwoman to resolve their contradictions in handling all tasks." It says such women "have become increasingly frustrated with their life". . But the official Iranian concept of equality is very different from that understood by Western feminists. Among the more eccentric policies here, Iran recently announced plans for a special bicycle for women. None of the machines has been spotted yet, but apparently the idea is to provide special covers, to help preserve female modesty as they pedal. Women, however, are still banned from riding motorcycles.
    • Sex-on-beach trial Britons guilty A British man and woman have been sentenced to three months in jail in Dubai after being found guilty of having sex on a beach. Michelle Palmer, 36, of Oakham, Rutland, and Vince Acors, 34, of Bromley, south-east London, were arrested on 5 July. They were fined 1,000 dirhams (£160; $350) and will be deported after serving their sentences. Their lawyer says the pair will appeal against the verdict. A spokesman for the judge said Acors and Palmer would be jailed and then deported for the offences of unmarried sex and public indecency. He added that they had been fined for being drunk in a public place. "The sentence of three months is usual in these cases. We get many cases of this kind," he said. Acors and Palmer were not at Dubai's Court of First Instance to hear the ruling but had been ordered not to leave the emirate.   Senior prosecutor Faisal Abdelmalek Ahli said he was disappointed at the length of sentence. "I'm not happy," he said, speaking outside court. "It's very light. It's normal for a sentence to be six months to a year for an offence such as this." Mr Ahli said he expected Acors and Palmer to serve their full three-month term in a Dubai prison. "Sometimes people serve half their sentence, but this is so short I expect they will serve it all," he said. The pair were arrested on Jumeirah Beach hours after meeting at a champagne brunch at Dubai's five-star Le Meridien hotel. A police officer told the court he had warned the pair about their inappropriate behaviour, but returned later to find them having sex on a sun lounger. Palmer, who was sacked from her job in Dubai as a publishing executive after her arrest, said in a statement she and Acors had been "just kissing and hugging". Mr Matter said witness statements, including one from the police officer, were "wrong" and medical examinations had proved Palmer had not had sex on the beach.
    •   No kiss for woman, but battery charged in Port St. Lucie incident Tuesday, October 21, 2008 PORT ST. LUCIE — A 26-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly beating a man Monday who told her to leave when she tried to kiss him, according to an arrest affidavit released Tuesday. Katrina L. Clemente, of the 3100 block of Southwest Chilton Court, also is accused of hitting a 17-year-old girl, who is eight months pregnant, in the stomach. The male victim told police he was in his van about 12:45 p.m. in the 3200 block of Southwest Ronlea Court when Clemente got inside. He asked her to leave as she tried to plant a kiss on him. As the victim pushed Clemente away, she reportedly said, "Hell no, I'm gonna kick your (buttocks)," before she started hitting the victim, the affidavit states. A witness reported seeing Clemente get out of the van and start running down the street, striking herself, "so she could call the police and claim that (the male victim) hit her," the affidavit states. The pregnant girl confronted Clemente at Southwest Belmont Circle and Southwest Tulip Boulevard and Clemente allegedly hit her in the stomach. Clemente told investigators she went to meet with the male victim and have sex. She said she didn't hit him or the pregnant girl. She said she was hit and pushed down, and that the male victim stole her cigarettes. Listed as unemployed, Clemente faces charges including aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and battery.
    • Father-of-two can't get a job – because employers think he's 'too ugly' Daily Mail Reporter 21st October 2008 An unemployed father-of-two who was born with a disfiguring skin condition which covers his face with benign tumours cannot find work because employers think he is "too ugly". Edward Johnson, 53, is desperate for work after losing his job as a hygiene supervisor. However, despite applying for more than 80 jobs and registering his CV with countless agencies, he remains unemployed and is convinced he is being discriminated against. Edward was born with hereditary condition neurofibromatosis, which has left his face and body covered with the harmless tumours. Depressed Edward, who has a wealth of 40 years experience in the food industry, said: 'I'm registered with all the local job agencies and one of them even mentioned my skin condition and said their clients wouldn't like it. 'A lot of people see my face and are scared of catching something even though it's not infectious. What annoys me is that when I take my CV into supermarkets or hotels, they look at me and say the vacancy is filled and I never hear anything back from them. There is no cure for Edward's condition, which affects around 25,000 people in the UK and is caused by a mutated gene in the nervous system. He has been hunting for a full-time job, but  was even struggling to find temporary work to pay bills.
    • Swedish hockey fans delay match with dildo downpour 22 Oct 08 Supporters of the Stockholm-based AIK ice hockey team scored an unusual hat trick of heckling on Tuesday night featuring dildos, profane banners, and a giant inflatable penis.   The taunts were directed at Jan Huokko, a stocky defenceman with the Leksand hockey club in Sweden’s second-tier professional hockey league, and a former player with AIK. Ahead of Tuesday’s match against Leksand, the website for AIK’s unofficial supporter group had instructed fans to bring dildos to the match to remind Huokko of the sex scandal which plagued him earlier in the year, according to the Expressen newspaper.

    • Woman survives blast probably started by TV remote October 22, 2008 BILLINGS, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in southwest Missouri say a TV remote control probably triggered an explosion that destroyed a Christian County home on Tuesday morning. The only person in the home at the time, Cindy Curry, 66, was blown outside but had only minor injuries. Firefighters said it's amazing she survived at all. Curry's husband, Jerry, said he smelled propane gas in the 10-year-old house late Monday. But the smell was gone Tuesday morning, so he went out to have breakfast with friends. His wife then turned on the TV, and Billings Fire Chief Henry Bos said it appears the remote control ignited propane still in the house. The couple lost two of their dogs and a bird.
    • Former Daytona-area teacher charged with sex with minor Orlando Sentine October 22, 2008   A former Warner Christian Academy teacher was charged today by two police departments with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student who attended the South Daytona school. Cynthia Horvath, 45, was arrested by Port Orange Police. She was booked at the Volusia County Branch Jail with bail set at $10,000. Daytona Beach Police also filed charges against her and bail was set at $10,000 on those charges. Horvath resigned after being confronted by school officials, who then contacted South Daytona Police, said Lt. Ron Wright of that agency. A brief investigation indicated the sexual activity took place in hotels in Port Orange and Daytona Beach and there was no illegal activity in South Daytona, Wright said. An investigation revealed the teacher and student were engaged in sexual activity in multiple locations in Port Orange between June and September, said Port Orange police Detective Capt. Frank Surmaczewicz.
    • Posted Oct 22nd 2008 Just like "Desperate Housewives," Nicollette Sheridan's gorgeous face has also fast-forwarded five years into the future. The sleepy-eyed 44-year-old kept it real by fetching some coffee sans makeup in L.A. yesterday. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
    • San Francisco may become safe for prostitutes   Tue October 21, 2008  SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- In this live-and-let-live town, where medical marijuana clubs do business next to grocery stores and an annual fair celebrates sadomasochism, prostitutes could soon walk the streets without fear of arrest. San Francisco would become the first major U.S. city to decriminalize prostitution if voters next month approve Proposition K, a measure that forbids local authorities from investigating, arresting or prosecuting anyone for selling sex. The ballot question technically would not legalize prostitution, since state law still prohibits it, but the measure would eliminate the power of local law enforcement officials to go after prostitutes. Proponents say the measure will free up $11 million the police spend each year arresting prostitutes and allow them to form collectives.

    • Science News Study: Cups of java cut cup size Published: Oct. 19, 2008 at 12:25 AM   LUND, Sweden, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Drinking a lot of coffee reduces the size of many women's breasts, a Swedish researcher finds. Helena Jernstrom, an oncologist at Lund University in southern Sweden, said that the effect is the result of a gene that about half of women possess, The Local reported. "Drinking coffee can have a major effect on breast size," she said. Jernstrom became interested in the subject because of research that has shown that large-breasted women are more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer, while downing at least three cups of coffee a day reduces cancer risk. She decided to look for a correlation directly between drinking coffee and breast size and found one. Her study tracked 270 women. Jernstrom's results were published in the British Journal of Cancer.
    • Making love to Madonna 'was like cuddling a piece of gristle' Daily Mail Reporter 20th October 2008 But the pop queen's obsession with maintaining a perfect body has been cited as one of the factors behind her split with Guy Ritchie. Madonna appeared gaunt as she left the Kabbalah Centre in New York on Saturday Her insistence on sticking to a gruelling four-hour exercise routine has been blamed for destroying the pair's seven-and-a-half year marriage. The strict regime reportedly meant the couple went for 18 months without making love. When they did find time to make love, it was like 'cuddling up to a piece of gristle', Ritchie is said to have told friends.
